- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13871364, 7 years agoI work in the Software Security field. One of my biggest paranoias is that a rogue site will be able to access one of my protected sites, such as banks or email. In the past, I was able to mitigate this by using different profiles in Chrome, but that required separate browsers to be running. Firefox had profiles, but I couldn't open them simultaneously, which made them useless. Now with Firefox containers, I am opening my email in separate contexts from my shopping, and other contexts. I have separate containers for different roles in trusted platforms. The big win is that I can set defaults for my sites. For instance, Amazon always opens in my shopping container. Sweet.
The only reason I cannot give this five stars is because of this one criticism. Links from my email open by default in the same container as my email. This is a security shortcoming because it opens me up to phishing attacks. You can work around using the context menu and opening in a specific container, but I would rather it be a default. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13858679, 8 years agoGreat Add-on!!
Nice to tidy up and organize Tabs. I like the possibility to easily separate websites, which shouldn't get in touch.
Just needs some additional configuration-tools +sync!
-rearranging containers, inclusive default (as I need it), is a must have! (I need default Tabs at the end)
-Pages in a container+settings(like always open in container X) have to be synced to other firefox-devices!!
-also to android
-more symbols colors
(- Advanced Options)
These point are not given at the time I reviewed it!
..would be nearly perfect, improves my experience a lot!
I really want to give it 5 Stars!!! - Rated 4 out of 5by gsm, 8 years agoVery nice, still missing some features – that would make the Containers a solid alternative to multiple Firefox profiles/Chrome's „people/supervised users“. Especially that Firefox forces a single instance (I consider this a deep architectural bug by itself).
1. Synchronization via Firefox sync.
2. Setting a default container for a domain is clumsy arnd unclear.
3. A better integration with Password Manager (..., History, Bookmarks, Addon Manager, Preferences,...) would be very nice.
4. A possibility to reopen the current URL in a different container is a must!
5. I'd expect that container tabs inherit from the „default“. Currently, the „default“ is just an ordinary container without any added value, just a bit different menu/toolbars/uncolored tabs, which is misleading.
6. Protect containers with a password? Especially if the Password Manager would be containerized.
Also it is not clear, which Addon is „THE containers“. There are many extensions on AMO with very similar functionality. - Rated 4 out of 5by binaryanomaly, 8 years agoGreat extension but should provide more configuration options. I.e. open always in default containers. URL patterns, etc.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 10424544, 8 years agoAwesome! It would be nice, if you could create shortcuts leading to a certain container.
- Rated 4 out of 5by JLG, 8 years agoParce que j'y trouve un intérêt pour protéger ma vie privée. Pour tester les sites que je met en place avec un onglet admin et un onglet visiteur. Merci
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13828166, 8 years agoWhat could make this add-on even better is if popular sites opened up in the proper container out of the box (ex amazon opened in shopping without the user having to set it up)
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13827093, 8 years agoGreat to be able to use multiple online identities freely, especially as a software developer where you need to juggle several for testing purposes. But I just wish this extension had a setting for automatically launching new tabs or windows in the same container as you're already in when you hit Ctrl+T or Ctrl+N. (At least, I can see no obvious way to enable this.)
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13827070, 8 years agoI recently have been trying to swap from google chrome to firefox quantum. It has worked really nicely but firefox doesn't have the feature to log into multiple accounts, and I wanted to keep my school and personal separate. So I found this and has been using it to do that. One thing I want is the ability to open a new window for single container. It is pretty annoying having to and remember to double tap the new tab button everytime.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13816625, 8 years agoGreat just misses context button to open current window in another container
- Rated 4 out of 5by MJGC-Jonathan, 8 years agoI think that this add-on has a lot going for it but it could use some help like when opening a new tab it had the option but currently when working if I want another tab I get thrown out of a flow having to go and click on it on the other side of the browser or use keyboard short cuts but the period is still on the other side of the keyboard.
- Rated 4 out of 5by John, 8 years agoLove it. Using it extensively for multiple containers.
Only issue is that it does not support syncing containers across multiple machines. My other plugins get synced but not this one
4 stars due to the sync issue, otherwise 5 start - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13817360, 8 years agoThe idea behind this add-on is very good and the current implementation looks promising. It should be integrated in Firefox and made even more capable and user friendly.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Michael Woffenden, 8 years agoThere was a huge need for such and addon and it's great to see Mozilla step up to create it. Way more stable than most add-ons out there and extremely useful.
However, matching new sites with containers should be easier.
Looking forward to more improvements, hopefully, in the future. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13557498, 8 years agoGreat plugin to separate work work and personal accounts.
Would give it 5 stars if it let you manage the default domains/containers in one spot without going to each page. Otherwise it's a 3-step process: 1) actually open each page in the right container, 2) check "Always open in ", and 3) when opening the page, click "Don't ask again" to open in the intended container... - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12376989, 8 years agoI love this extension. I use it a lot. I wish it could be made available in Firefox for Android.
- Rated 4 out of 5by TheSlider2, 8 years agoHi,
This plugin is pretty cool but there is a problem when trying to rename a container. This happens as soon as going into the edit container menu.
I have to mention that I'm using a French AZERTY keyboard.
When I press Shift + 1 , the menu disappears and a new tab is opened in the corresponding container (personal container). It's the same for any other container where the number corresponds to it's position in the container list. I understand that this is a normal keyboard shortcut but it prevents us from using numeric values unless we have a numpad, which we might not have.
These keyboard shortcuts should be disabled when using the menu because the only way for us to use the numbers or other language specific letters on non QWERTY keyboard is often to use "SHIFT" or "Alt Gr".
Thanks. : ) - Rated 4 out of 5by Eduardo Correia Pinto Alves Barbosa, 8 years agoMuito legal a funcionalidade. Precisar ter alguns atalhos para transição containers e criação de novas abas para determinado container. De repente incluir também alguns containers privados, bloquear com senha.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13797914, 8 years agoReally cool idea!!
Some ideas, how about different bookmarks for each container, so I just have the appropriate ones visible - Rated 4 out of 5by Soar, 8 years agoPlease, add option "Open all tabs in this window as - ..." - for example I want to open two Firefox windows, first for my own workspace, second - for work. And I want all tabs belonging to these windows follow same behavior.
Great addon, thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by lasergyro, 8 years agoContainers should have separate histories, sync over devices and support android. People use different identities online and their history/bookmarks should be split too.
