- Rated 5 out of 5by Hikitsu, a year agoThis functionality should be added to vanilla Firefox, as it can be extremely useful from time to time.
The only feature it's seriously missing is a keyboard shortcut like CTRL-SHIFT-F (if overriding default CTRL-F isn't possible) to help it replace the deficient vanilla search once and for all. If the dev is still around, please consider adding one.
A less important (but also useful) suggestion: add the options gear button to the main popup, to make access to the add-on's settings much faster (for tweaking colors and so on). - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefoss, a year agoAmazing.
It highlights all occurrences of what we search.
That alone is worth enough for me.
It does not require *any* permission. - Rated 4 out of 5by SeeNickView, a year agoNot 5/5 because on Firefox once activating the extension, say by keying CTRL + SHFT + F, as soon as I scroll down the page, the extension deactivates and all highlights disappear.
On Chrome this problem does not occur as the extension remains until I key ESC.
Hoping for an update to the extension to address this headache.

- Rated 2 out of 5by CaioMartinelli, 2 years agoIt's good but the fact that close the window makes everything marked disappear is just too bad to not point it out, it's one of those unique features that even alone really makes the product shine but in reverse here.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Hollow_Fang, 2 years agoWorks great! First off there are settings (optional but they well help) Most folks saying dissapiers or what ever did not read the settings.I Have 1 and only one gripe!
if I open a text doc to search multiple words I cannot copy said highlighted words or at very least Hide all that is not highlighted . only complaint
Please add or ability to send the highlighted to TxT file. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13524479, 3 years agoWorks well. Except search results disappear as soon as Firefox is not the foreground window anymore.
We should have an option to let the search pop-up and results visible until we decide to hide them. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 17119052, 3 years agoHi Brian, very good idea and nice work!
I have to agree with 2y old comment of user 13596644 which states (with a reorder of importance for my use case and added comments):
- keep the search bar open when going to another tab and then coming back to the one searched
- - this really makes it almost unusable
- add scroll bar coloring for where the searched results are, similar to firefox native search
- - this would help tremendously finding appropriate information on long text websites
- add option to keep the same set of searched words across tabs / pages when clicking on the icon
- - maybe also display a list of last used searches with option to "X" some of them when mistyped or not needed anymore
- add (customizable) keyboard shortcut
- add option for case-sensitivity
Not sure if you can contact me as a developer, but in case you need testing of the app, I would like to help.
Thank you for the effort! - Rated 5 out of 5by tmk333, 3 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Implausible Feloniousness, 3 years agoIt works perfectly fine.
ATTENTION! The highlight DOES NOT disappear when the window is closed. To make this true just go to options of the add-on and check "Keep highlights when closing the popup". And it works fine. - Rated 5 out of 5by lubusta, 3 years agono special permission needed. Not running fast but quite powerful. You need more examples on how to use it. Some time for very very long page, complex search is not responsive and hangs that tab.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Максим, 4 years agoI'm impressed that there is no permissions this add-on asks for.
- Rated 5 out of 5by chrisp, 4 years agoThanks Brian, I have found this extension very helpful and does what it says. Also as mentioned in the other reviews, if you could be so kind as finding a way to keep the text highlighted after you click elsewhere on the screen that would also be super helpful. Thanks again for your efforts in creating this extension.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13455483, 4 years agoPLEASE come up with a way to keep words highlighted after clicking elsewhere. Either leave the page "altered" or keep the extension popup box active. It would also be nice to click on one of our search words and jump throught he document with each instance.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14128169, 4 years agoExactly what you would expect. Type partial or full words, or use regular expressions to find more complex patters. The tool then highlights each grouping by a different colour. This add-on doesn't require any permissions.
