MusicMax – Lyrics for Spotify Web by Thock
MusicMax privacy policy (last updated October 19, 2026)
MusicMax shows lyrics in the Spotify web player (open.spotify.com). It has no account, no server of its own, no analytics and no ads. The developer does not collect, receive, store, sell or share any of your data.
What the extension reads
On open.spotify.com only, it reads the playing song's title, artist, length, position and cover image address from the page, so it can find and display lyrics.
What is sent, and to whom
- LRCLIB (lrclib.net): the song's title, artist and length, to find its lyrics. This happens for songs Spotify has no lyrics for, and when you search manually.
- Genius (genius.com) and NetEase (music.163.com): only if you turn on "Also search Genius & NetEase" in the settings (off by default; Firefox asks for your permission). Then the song's title and artist are sent when LRCLIB has no lyrics for it, and your search text when you search manually.
- Spotify's image server (i.scdn.co): the cover image already shown on the page is downloaded to pick the lyrics' background colors and to draw share images.
No information about you (name, email, Spotify account, listening history) is included. Each service handles requests under its own privacy policy.
What is stored on your device
Your settings and up to 500 found lyrics are saved in the extension's local storage so songs load instantly next time, plus a log of the last 300 lookups for troubleshooting. This never leaves your device unless you press "Copy debug log" yourself. You can clear saved lyrics and the log from the extension's popup; uninstalling the extension deletes everything.
Sharing a line
"Share a line" images are made on your computer and only copied to your clipboard or saved where you choose.
