Privacy policy for Name That Color
Name That Color by 5moreminutes.games
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Name That Color is a browser extension that names the color you point at.
It collects nothing. The extension does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal
information, browsing history, page content or usage data. It makes no network requests and has
no accounts, analytics or advertising.
How it works with your pages. When you click the toolbar icon, the extension reads the color
under your cursor from a screenshot of the tab you're on. The screenshot is held in memory only
to read pixels, is never saved or sent anywhere, and is discarded. Images you drop or paste into
the extension are handled the same way, entirely on your device.
Permissions. "activeTab" lets it see the page you clicked it on, and "scripting" lets it show
its color card there. It does nothing until you click the icon. When you click Copy, it puts the
color value (or swatch) on your clipboard. It only reads the clipboard when you paste an image
into it.
Third parties. None. The color names ship inside the extension.
Changes. If this ever changes, the new policy will be posted here with a new date.
