About this extension
Gradescope shows each assignment's score but not what your course grade actually is. This adds a panel to every Gradescope course page showing your weighted grade so far, a per-category breakdown, and your raw point total.
Setting up a course
1. Click "Set up weights with AI" and copy the prompt. It lists the course's assignments and asks for the grading policy in a fixed format.
2. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, or any assistant along with your syllabus.
3. Paste the reply back and click Import.
New assignments are sorted into categories automatically. Anything that can't be sorted is highlighted, and you pick its category once from a dropdown.
Supported grading rules
- Points-based or equal-weight categories
- Drop the lowest N, or count the best N
- The final exam replaces your lowest midterm if higher
- Completion credit for participation work
- Category caps and bonus/extra-credit categories
- Custom formulas, e.g. "the better of two grading schemes"
- Typed-in scores for things not on Gradescope (attendance, labs), which also work for what-ifs
Weightings can be exported and shared with classmates.
Privacy
Everything stays in your browser. The extension makes no network requests and collects no data. Only you send your syllabus to an AI, through the assistant you choose.
