posted 7 years agoHi! Thank You for taking Your time to write a review! I would like to use the reviews to once in a while improve my AddOn I developed in my spare time, but I cannot really see what exactly you're referring to.
Could You please explain what exactly about this AddOn is slow on YouTube? Does it take too long to activate (normally percieved as a flash when loading a page) or do You have the feeling it slows down your browser a lot? Depending on the answers, it might be useful to know on which device specs You experience this or what the conditions (e.g. network speed) are.
Thank You!

Thought I had found a perfect global dark extension for Firefox only to notice the issue with Google Maps and some other sites. It's incredibly frustrating as it's otherwise excellent.
Really hope the developer is able to fix a few little bugs :) - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15241245, 5 years agoIn comparison to a bigger one that have the invert mode, it inverts less items.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14732929, 6 years agoReally like this--great improvement of readability, less eye-strain. Only major issue is it seems to prevent loading of google maps. Obviously, for it to work on gmail, it has to be enabled for the same domain as for maps, so have to manually disable to get maps to load. Would be great if there could be a fix for this. I regret I don't have the capability to be much help beyond reporting the issue. Thanks again for everywhere else that it works!

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14122782, 7 years agoWhen "enbabled globally" and not "on this domain" and not "invert only, don't hue-rotate" Google maps doesn't work.

- Rated 3 out of 5by regardingscot, 7 years agoWorks mostly, but breaks webgl in Firefox heavily (basically making Google maps, Google+ photo view useless).
It might be a bug in Firefox (not in the extension) but never the less it works without it and not with it so, one need to disable it before loading those sites, its broken if only disabled for the domain.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHi, thanks for reporting! That one is really weird. I have no idea how this could affect webgl, but I confirm it's there. This is also to be expected to still not work after disabling globally or on domain from the popup with the current version, because I still apply the CSS3 filter with invert and hue-rotate, I just give it parameters of 0. In the new version (hopefully coming sometime soon) that will be different, enabling you to at least rather conveniently disabling globally/on domain before loading G Maps etc. and also that super stupid bug where prints are pixelated because it doesn't bother to recalculate the pixel buffer for the significantly higher resolution. (Yes, really. That took me a while to figure out. *facepalm*) - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13687923, 7 years agoHyvin toimii android puhelimessa. Toisin kuin muut taustan mustaksi ja tekstin valkoiseksi maalaavat lisukkeet tämä ei muuta häiritsevästi layouttia vaan säilyttää näkymän värejä lukuunottamatta alkuperäisenä. Lisukkeen settingsit löytyy osoite rivin oikean laidan kolmen pisteen takaa ja valitsemalla ponnahdusvalikosta alhaalta "Night Reader for Firefox".

For me, most sites are best in daylight and only some in night vision.
Now you first have to enable globally and secondly can enable/disable a domain.
I would greatly appreciate the possibility to enable directly a domain - without having to enable globally and forcing me again and again to manually disable when I visit another domain.
I guess a lot of people would appreciate this option. Is it possible?

I thank the developer for the adequate and promising response.Developer response
posted 7 years agoThank You for taking the time to write a review! I'm glad that this get's appreciated when it only started out as a quick idea from websites bothering me... :D
That possibility pretty much joins all other features waiting for the detailed options page scheduled for 2.0. I could implement checkboxes for these with the current setup in the popup, but that would make it almost unusable. I need a nice structured options page for that.
And if you worry that 2.0 is still a long way to go, worry no more, because I don't have much experience with version numbers and am already considering to make 2.0 the very next version, because it will have major changes like the options page, which would be a waste of time to do before the refactoring I really need to do.
So the real question is, when will I allocate my spare time to make v2.0 a thing (besides studies and all other project I want to do)? - Rated 5 out of 5by neuroghost, 7 years agoVery good extension, sorry I'm sending the following bug reports through this comment, I know it's not the place but I couldn't find where else to send it. 1) The checkboxes can be enabled/disabled, but they revert to the original options as soon as I leave the options panel. I can't disable globally or for one domain, or enable the third option for revert. 2) Probably because of the previous problem, the extension interferes with another extension I have, Enhancer for Youtube. Maybe if I could disable Night Reader for youtube it would work, but like I said the checkboxes don't work, for some reason. Thanks in advance for any response, keep up the good work! I'm on Firefox 57 (Quantum) EDIT: Ha, I found the solution, it seems I hadn't restarted Firefox and I just assumed the extension would work without restarting Firefox. Now it works! Thanks for the fast response!

That problem seems very weird to me, as I cannot replicate this by simply installing Enhancer for YouTube. Also, the behaviour you are describing seems to be the panel failing to communicate with the local storage api provided by the browser. As my extension currently relies on that to save its state across sessions, you need to have it enabled for the extension to work. If you don't know how to test this, press [F12] to open the developer tools, go to the tab Console send me the output of these commands:
!window.localStorage
and
localStorage.setItem(test, 'test'); localStorage.removeItem('test');
This should determine if local storage works as it should. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 4762199, 7 years agoGreat extension. The capability of inverting brightness but not color is the best. It could only improve with a keyboard shortcut for enabling/disabling on a domain.

posted 7 years agoThank You for taking your time to write a review. That's some nice thing I though about at the start but already lost track of over development. Added to the TODO list! - Rated 4 out of 5by 8472, 7 years ago

2. Инвертирует цвет картинок на веб страницах. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12538387, 7 years agoI used to use Dark Background and Light Text, but with the new firefox legacy enforcement I can't anymore. This does the same thing, mostly. All it really lacks are the custom CSS color settings and page profile management, which the developer says he will be adding in the future.
