No Playlist Autoplay For YouTube by T Rich

by Synetech, 5 years agoIT WORKS! HALLELUJAH IT WORKS!
The only problem I have with it is that the toolbar icon doesn't make it clear whether it's active or not. It should be more clear, at the least, the tooltip should clarify it.
This is the only addon (and I've tested a lot) that actually blocks YouTube videos from autoplaying the next video in a playlist on the YouTube site itself but doesn't block them from autoplaying in an embedded frame. Thus, it works perfectly to allow watching videos on YouTube without losing your unfinished comment because stupid YouTube autoplayed the next video before you could submit the comment, while also letting you watch videos in an iframe while you work on other stuff. 👍
Of course, how long it'll work is anyone's guess since as I type, Google is probably actively trying to figure out ways to break this and FORCE autoplaying no matter what users want or how inconvenient it is or how much of users' bandwidth it wastes, because they don't actually care if people watch videos, just that the videos run so that ads run so that Google profits. 😒
Until then, thanks a lot T Rich for this addon; I won't have to worry about wasting my time from lost comments due to autoplay for a while. ❤️

2. Go to YouTube page
3. Right click the extension icon on toolbar
4. Click "Always allow on www.youtube.com"
5. You can now hide/remove the extension icon from the toolbar
6. You don't need to make ANY changes in your browser's Extensions page/Extension Preferences. (I'm talking about the setting "Enforce autoplay setting every: # milliseconds". Ignore that, leave it empty.)
7. You can now stop worrying how many videos you missed, when you fall asleep while watching your favorite playlists! - Rated 5 out of 5by Jim, 3 months ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by BWX, 4 months agoNice work. Was wondering if it's possible to have an option for watch later playlist to stop auto play. I have to use a separate add-on for that. Also treating shorts as regular vids option would be cool.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 6560290, 9 months agoThank you! This is exactly what I needed, does just what it says, gives you a toggle button to stop or start autoplay for playlists. Not sure why Youtube only gives us this feature if it's not in a playlist.

If only YouTube added this officially.
Suggestion: Currently the video ends to a blank screen, which is totally fine.
A possible improvement would be to show the thumbnail afterwards, or next videos in the playlist. - Rated 5 out of 5by Eason & Yue, a year ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Pedro Henrique Branco, a year agoFunciona. Simples e efetiva.
Essa função já deveria existir nativamente no YouTube. Antes tinha, e por ganância eles removeram, tudo para que vejamos mais propagandas no vídeo seguinte. - Rated 1 out of 5by Bernard Chardonneau, a year agoSponsorblock stops working when this add-on is installed

- Rated 5 out of 5by MACKY, a year agoI'll give it a 5 because the issues only started today. YouTube seems to have changed something, so now the extension no longer works. Agreeing with the last guy that reviewed that the extension should be updated.
Edit: The issue has been fixed.
