WHAT IT DOES

• Lens (reading layer) — Dark/light/auto theme, adjustable font size, reading-width control, visited posts grayed out, zebra striping, compact mode. Subtle improvements that respect HN's aesthetic.

• Type badges — Inline SHOW / ASK / LAUNCH / TELL / POLL pills directly on titles, with color-coded row tints. One glance tells you what kind of post you're looking at.

• Pin & tag threads — Pin any post, add multicolored tags (color hashed from the tag name). Tags propagate back onto the HN page next to the title for quick scanning.

• Radar dashboard (signal layer) — Top / Show HN / Ask HN / Best, each with per-post velocity score (points + comments per hour) and delta indicator. Spot what's rising before it peaks.

• OP active badge — Golden badge when the post author is replying in the thread. The "founder is here" signal HN readers love.

• Comment-war alert — Subtle chip at 150+ comments, fire icon at 400+. Know when a thread got heated.

• Inline comment preview — Hover the comment count on a pinned card to see the top 5 comments inline. No tab switching.

• Mute domains — Tired of medium.com? Add it to your mute list.

• In-browser translation — Chrome's local Translator API for titles and comment previews. Runs on your device, no cloud calls.

PRIVACY

Local-first by design. Zero backend, zero account, zero telemetry. All settings, pinned posts, tags and mute list live in chrome.storage.local. The only network calls go to news.ycombinator.com and Hacker News' public Firebase API.
