    Version 1.5.0

    Released Oct 1, 2026 - 210.6 KB
Works with firefox 109.0 and later
The Settings button was missing from built releases (the code existed in src/ but dist/ was stale, so installs never saw it). This release fixes that and ships a full Settings view reachable from both the Library (⚙ Settings) and the video detail page (⚙ Settings in the top bar), plus deep-linking via #settings.
    • New Downloads section: choose a subfolder inside your browser's Downloads folder where all .md and .zip exports are saved (default: NoteYT).
    • One-click presets: NoteYT (default) · NoteYT/Exports · Downloads root (no subfolder).
    • Live preview of the real save path, e.g. ~/Downloads/NoteYT/noteyt-my-video-title-2026-10-01.md.
    • Safe sanitization (letters, numbers, spaces, _ - / only; .. and \ stripped, so no path traversal).
    • Note explaining the browser limitation: WebExtensions can only write relative to ~/Downloads, never to arbitrary absolute paths.
    • Auto-saves on typing (debounced) + Reset button.
    • Shows installed version (read from chrome.runtime.getManifest()), short feature blurb.
    • ⭐ Star on GitHub button → https://github.com/shad-ct/NoteYT
    • 🐛 Report an issue button → https://github.com/shad-ct/NoteYT/issues
    • Repo path shown for copy-paste.
    • Export options: toggle the Title/Channel/URL/Last-edited header block in .md files, and toggle the YYYY-MM-DD date suffix in file names. Both apply to single .md exports, combined export, and .zip exports (library + content-script panel).
    • Library defaults: default sort order (Last edited / Alphabetical) — persisted and applied on next library load.
    • Data & storage: live stats (videos count, characters, ~bytes, Watch Later count), Export all (.zip) shortcut, Delete ALL notes danger zone with double-confirm, and Reset all settings to defaults.
    • Settings toast: every change flashes a ✓ Saved indicator; old installs auto-migrate to the new schema via defaults merge.
    • Bug fix: exportAllCombined had a wrong void return type on an async function — now correctly Promise<void> (was failing npm run typecheck).
    • noteyt-v1.5.0.zip — upload this to AMO / Chrome Web Store. Contents are the built dist/ files at zip root (manifest.json, content-script.js, background/, library/, styles/, icons/).
    • noteyt-v1.5.0-source.zip — source code for AMO review / archival. Excludes node_modules/, dist/, .git/, and local noteyt-*.zip artifacts. Run npm install && npm run build to reproduce dist/.

    Version 1.3.0

    Released Oct 1, 2026 - 206.86 KB
Works with firefox 109.0 and later
    What's New & Changed
Unified Single Notepad: We've replaced the multiple notes system with a single, continuous scratchpad for each video. You can now write and format your thoughts in one place without managing individual note cards!
Timestamp Feature Removed: To simplify the writing experience, the timestamp pinning feature has been removed.
Data Preserved: Don't worry about your old notes! Any existing notes for a video will be automatically concatenated into a single long document when you load them.
Library Page Fixes: Fixed a rendering bug on the Library page where raw HTML tags were visible instead of the actual UI elements. The layout is now cleaner and displays your full video notes seamlessly.
Under-the-Hood Cleanup: Simplified the storage and export layers for better performance and reliability.
