About this extension
OrbitForge is an interactive N-body orbital sandbox that runs locally in Firefox.
Create stars, planets, moons, asteroids, and black holes, then drag through empty space to launch new bodies with an initial velocity. Existing bodies can also be dragged and redirected while the simulation is running.
Bodies attract one another through gravity, can enter orbit, collide, merge, and alter the motion of the rest of the system. OrbitForge includes adjustable gravity, time scale, trail length, collision behavior, and presets for stable systems, binary stars, three-body motion, and a black-hole system.
Additional controls can inject an asteroid rain or nudge existing planets to disturb an otherwise stable system.
OrbitForge works without an account, network connection, or external service.
