Pause – Mindful Site Blocker by Apollox
Stop mindless scrolling. Pause asks if you really want to open distracting sites like YouTube or Reddit, then makes you wait a few seconds before they load. Per-site rules, schedules and private stats.

About this extension
Pause puts a small speed bump in front of the sites that eat your time.
When you open a site you've added, like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or Reddit, Pause asks first: "Do you really want to open this?"
It's friction, not a hard block. Most of the time, a few seconds is enough to realise you didn't really want to go there.

When you open a site you've added, like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or Reddit, Pause asks first: "Do you really want to open this?"
- Say no, and you're taken back where you came from.
- Say yes, and you wait a few seconds first. The timer pauses if you switch to another tab, so you can't just wait it out somewhere else.
- After waiting, the site stays unlocked for a while (15 minutes by default). When the time runs out, open tabs on that site go back to the prompt.
It's friction, not a hard block. Most of the time, a few seconds is enough to realise you didn't really want to go there.
Rules for each site
- Pause mode (ask, then wait) or Block mode (won't open at all)
- Your own wait time, from 5 seconds to 10 minutes
- How long the site stays unlocked, from 1 minute to 2 hours
- Schedules: only apply a rule on certain days and times, e.g. weekdays 9:00–17:00
- Turn any rule on or off with one click
Toolbar popup
- See the current site's status at a glance: paused, blocked, or unlocked with the minutes left
- "Lock now" ends an unlock early
- Add the site you're on with one click, or type any site
- Pause starts empty: you choose exactly which sites to slow down
Analytics
- How often you turned back vs. went through
- Your resist rate, and how it compares to the previous period
- Time spent on paused sites (only while the tab is in focus and you're not idle)
- A day × hour heatmap of when you get tempted most
- A sortable table for each site
- Filter by 7, 30 or 90 days, all time, or a single site
Appearance
- Light, Dark or Auto, set separately for the popup and the prompt page
Private by design
- Pause collects no data. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics servers.
- Your sites, settings and stats are stored only in your browser.
- You can reset your stats at any time.
