Any hope of the Japanese version also being revived?

posted 7 years agoThanks for the reply. I didn't know their FF Japanese version wasn't working with Quantum. When I have time I will try to get a version up, but it seems like it will take a bit more time. Cheers

- Rated 5 out of 5by Sandy, a month agoWorks perfectly! It helped me find my way around Bilibili. And I feel I'm learning a lot while reading -- some characters already look familiar.
- Rated 4 out of 5by 咕嚕, 2 months agoVery good, I hope the addon will support Cantonese tone numbers rather than accents.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17752811, 2 years agoExtremely useful add-on. Does a great job of telling me what the characters mean and how they are pronounced. Groups characters together where appropriate to give extended meanings. Great work!
- Rated 5 out of 5by jayjayel, 2 years agoI've been using this addon for a long time but never got around to writing a review or thanking the developer. It's very useful, especially for someone that has a hard time reading, but can understand via listening. Thanks for this addon! It's very easy to use and I love it!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Igor, 4 years agoBasically 5-stars, but there is a mistake in Bopomofo (Zhuyin). Characters with pinyin 'mo' get transcribed as 'muo' in Bopomofo.
E.g., the dictionary entry for 沒落 is: ㄇㄛˋ ㄌㄨㄛˋ (http://dict.revised.moe.edu.tw/cgi-bin/cbdic/gsweb.cgi?ccd=3qL0lR&o=e0&sec=sec1&op=v&view=0-1), but in Perapera it's ㄇㄨㄛˋ ㄌㄨㄛˋ

- Rated 3 out of 5by Henry, 7 years agoOn Firefox quantum. Don't know the reason why but it's a bit laggy. Sometimes it will take a few seconds and moving the mouse back and forth before it will pick up a word.

posted 7 years agoIt might be related to your Firefox settings or it might conflict with other addons. Try turning off some other addons and see if it works after that. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13674964, 7 years agoPretty good, but could use a (custom-assigned) keyboard shortcut to turn it on and off

posted 7 years agoI've added this feature. Hope you like it. It works by pressing the keys in order. Hope it is sufficient. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13663373, 7 years agoVery helpful popups that many times are better than a paper dictionary (and a whole lot faster! :) )
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13616605, 7 years agoThis add-on is quite handy for language learners trying to navigate the Internet in Chinese. I appreciate that there are options for both traditional and simplified characters, as well as different ways of rendering Mandarin pinyin. And it just got handier; I'm excited to see that support for Cantonese has been added in version 2.1!
After a quick check, it appears that the Canto translations are accurate, but the romanization is a bit weird... or it's a system I'm not familiar with. Yale and Jyutping are the two most popular systems; my preference is for Yale. Perhaps using CC-Canto and CC-CEDICT with Cantonese readings would help: http://cantonese.org/download.html
I look forward to seeing how this add-on progresses!
