    Version 1.1.2

    Released Oct 25, 2026 - 39.85 MB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    1.1.2
    - A name that comes back later in a paste is masked too: a first name or surname on its own, "Mina's", or "Conversation with Mina".
    - "We saw Mina Calder in clinic today" masks the name. Before, a clinic or hospital right after a name could keep it shown.
    - Pastes up to 1 MB of text are masked.
    - Optional usage reports now include your browser's language and text processing-time ranges, and count text and scanned PDFs apart.
    - Plan owners can cancel from the Plan page: a Cancel plan link under Manage billing opens Stripe at its cancel step.
    - The clipboard preview opens when you click the PHI Mask logo, or press Enter or Space on it. Hovering the logo only shows its power control and name. The preview stays open until you press Escape, click outside it, or click the logo again.
    - While PHI Mask reads what you copied, the logo opens the preview at once with "Reading" and the shape of what is coming, and Review and Paste are already in place.
    - A copied picture stays ready until you copy something else, so Paste keeps working after time in another tab.
    - Pictures on file cards are sharper.
    - A file's "See what was sent" opens the masked copy that was sent, with no Original / Masked switch.
    - Turning PHI Mask off and on again, or a snooze ending, brings each file's pill back with its card.
    - A scroll that leaves a file's pill where it is keeps its card open, with the values you pressed.
    - A file's pill that returns under your pointer opens its card, without a move.
    - Sent files keep their card past the eighth file in a long chat.
    - File cards hold five times as many values, so dense multi-page files stay editable.

  • Version 1.1.0

    Released Oct 15, 2026 - 38.09 MB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    1.1.0
    - Your browser asks once to allow PHI Mask on all sites, so new AI sites can arrive in an update without turning PHI Mask off. Masking is on by default only on AI sites; turn it on for any other site from the popup.
    - New AI sites: Copilot at copilot.com, Kimi at kimi.com, OpenEvidence, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Gemini Notebook, Qwen, Duck.ai, Z.ai and Google AI Mode.
    - Faster first paste, faster Review, faster scans and PDFs, and less memory.
    - PDFs with JPEG 2000 pictures or Chinese, Japanese or Korean text are now masked instead of coming out blank.
    - More names are caught: patients, relatives, legal parties and Burmese names. Organizations' own phone numbers and emails are labelled as theirs.
    - Dragged text, PDFs pasted beside other files, and numbers under an SSN label are masked.
    - Tabs left open during an update keep masking.
    - Send waits for attachments in Spanish, French, Vietnamese and Arabic too.
    - Clipboard preview: press a value to paste its original.
    - Trial and plan cards show clearer dates and the 30-day money-back guarantee. Subscribers can give a colleague a free month.

  • Version 1.0.3

    Released Oct 13, 2026 - 44.24 MB
Works with firefox 109.0a1 and later
    1.0.3
    - Masks more personal details: relatives named in a clinician's note, personal phone numbers, home and mailing addresses, deposition IDs, names spelled letter by letter, and the individual parties and witnesses of an agreement.
    - Masks fewer things by mistake: opposing lawyers read as Professional, and drawing captions, stamps and form labels are no longer read as names.
    - Text files: the masked copy covers each value in full, including Arabic and Hebrew rows. An address under a medical record number is masked in full, street included, in text files, PDFs and scanned pages.
    - Replies restore placeholders the same way in the extension as on phimask.com, including dates, phone and fax numbers, and placeholders you typed yourself.
    - Files you attach share placeholders with your pastes, so the same person keeps one placeholder across the conversation.
    - ChatGPT: Update works on long pasted notes, and a paste in one chat no longer shows its values in another.
    - Review opens over your chat, takes keyboard focus, and closes with Escape. Clearer labels, focus rings and screen reader support throughout.
    - Review isn't available in private windows, and PHI Mask now says so right away.
    - About 13% smaller on every supported page, and access to three fewer sites.

  • Version 1.0.1

    Released Oct 9, 2026 - 43.45 MB
Works with firefox 109.0a1 and later
    1.0.1
    - Firefox: PHI Mask connects to your AI chats again, the On/Off switch stays where you put it, and pasted text is masked.
    - Firefox: Review opens from the paste chip, and the toolbar popup is back to its normal width.
    - A chat no longer gets stuck on “PHI Mask hasn’t connected to this chat” when the connection is slow.
    - Every file in a large drop (up to 20) shows its badge, and Review on a finished file opens without reading it again.
    - A saved Find and replace rule can say whose words they are: Personal or Professional.
    - The toolbar icon no longer flashes OFF while a page loads.

  • Version 1.0.0

    Released Oct 8, 2026 - 43.44 MB
Works with firefox 109.0a1 and later
    1.0.0
    - Free is available for personal and professional work, with 10 extension masks per week. Professional provides unlimited masks.
    - Eligible unpaid users updating from 0.5.4 receive a one-time 14-day trial with unlimited masks when 1.0.0 first runs. After the trial, you continue on Free. Existing trials keep their original end date.
    - Turn masking off or on for a single image from its preview card.
    - Vietnamese and Arabic are available throughout the extension, with right-to-left Arabic controls. French and Spanish now cover paste and file notices, progress, recovery actions, and referrals.
    - A delayed paste keeps its place across paragraphs, blank lines, and line breaks in the chat box.
    - More accurate labels on court filings: party names, signing clauses, captions, case numbers, and published citations are told apart, and a surname used on its own is linked to the full name.
    - More accurate labels on forms and medical records: printed names above form labels, short ID fields, staff roles, and clinic contact details are labelled more reliably.
    - Fewer wrong names and places: form captions, role words, vehicle ID numbers, and place names in ordinary sentences are no longer read as people; Irish postal codes are recognized in full.

  • Version 0.5.4

    Released Sep 27, 2026 - 24.85 MB
Works with firefox 109.0a1 and later
    0.5.4
    - Google AI Mode (www.google.com) is now off by default, so PHI Mask asks for access to one fewer site at install. To use it there, open the PHI Mask popup on www.google.com and turn it on.
    - Saved rules now work like detected labels. Pick a label for each rule's words, edit the words and placeholder in place, and your profile decides how the value is treated.
    - Licensed plans show seats and the renewal or end date. The billing owner can open Manage billing; other team members see who to ask.
    - Text you type while a paste is being checked is kept, and the cursor returns to where you were typing.
    - If a detection attempt fails, PHI Mask retries instead of leaving the paste unfinished.
    - Toolbar tooltips appear once, above the page. The paste chip sits inside the composer when there is no room above it.
    - Fewer wrong labels on forms and legal documents: field names, captions, instructions, option lists, and statute titles are no longer read as names, emails, postal codes, places, or organizations.

    0.5.3
    - Known contacts: when the same clinic or provider phone, fax, email, or name is labelled in three different chats or files, PHI Mask remembers it in this browser and labels later copies the same way.
    - The paste preview card has a Paste button.
    - Updating a file on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Kimi replaces the old copy instead of leaving a stale one beside it.
    - Uploaded files use the same [name:INITIALS] placeholders as chat.
    - A paste or upload never gets stuck. If masking cannot finish, your text or file goes through as you sent it and PHI Mask tells you.
    - The review viewer has a zoom control. Notices clear when you switch chats.
    - Placeholders are restored in an assistant conversation after the page is refreshed.
    - Fewer wrong labels on letterheads, engineering drawings, and legal invoices
