Latest version
Version 3.1.0
Released Oct 21, 2026 - 1.55 MBWorks with firefox 142.0 and laterBurp highlighting no longer touches your requests
With Phoenix Highlighter v2.0.0 in Burp, every container with an open tab gets its own Burp proxy listener. Burp colours each request and notes the container name by the listener it arrives on, so nothing is added to the request and nothing can leak to the target. Several tabs of a container share one listener, and it closes 15 seconds after the container's last tab.
One switch, automatic pairing
* The Highlighter tile turns highlighting on or off; its gear opens pairing. A dot on the tile shows the connection at a glance (green connected, amber connecting, red failed).
* PhoenixBox finds the Highlighter in Burp and asks to pair: click Allow once in Burp's PhoenixBox tab. A pairing string remains as a fallback.
* The Highlighter window downloads the latestPhoenixBoxHighlighter.jardirectly.
* Still works with Highlighter v1.x: unpaired, containers send only theX-MAC-Container-Colorheader, as before. If highlighting was on in 3.0, it stays on.
Fixes
* Proxy: traffic is routed and authenticated the way the popup says; service-worker requests take the container's proxy; the extension's own requests go direct.
* Containers: hiding, un-hiding and moving tabs work across every window, and your container colours, icons and names are no longer overwritten.
* Sync backs up container changes again, keeps deleted presets deleted, and two devices no longer trigger each other endlessly.
* Accessibility fixes, a single theme setting, and a package cut from 11.4 MB to 1.5 MB.

Released Jul 5, 2026 - 11.78 MBWorks with firefox 142.0 and laterWhat's New in v3.0
Route Multiple Containers Through the Global Proxy
You can now promote more than one container to the global proxy at once. The global proxy fallback applies to every promoted container, while the rest stay on a direct connection.
"Paint the Burp" is now "Highlighter"
The Burp Suite request-highlighting feature has been renamed to Highlighter for clarity. The first-time setup modal links directly to the PhoenixBoxHighlighter.jar download, and the onboarding flow has been polished.
Redesigned Interface
Quick controls (Proxy / Highlighter / User-Agent) are now compact icon toggle tiles.
Refreshed container list, detail, and edit views — color-tinted rows, icon chips, tab-count badges, and a live identity preview.
The "Always open this site in…" page-action picker now matches the redesigned container list: rounded rows, accent hover, icon tiles, and a chevron.
New Theming Options
New white accent, plus mode-aware black/white accents that automatically swap when you toggle dark/light.
The logo "Box" wordmark accent can follow the theme hue or use its own color, and persists across sessions.
Under the Hood
Accessibility and consistency pass across the accent and control UI.
Internal logging cleanup and CSS modernization.Source code released under Mozilla Public License 2.0
