If you've been getting stuck on 59 seconds (or 1:04 or whatever), or getting served that notice in the screenshot, this may help you... for now, anyway.
There is a bit of a learning curve in how you handle the plugin, and it needs manual attention every time.
When you visit a youtube link, plunger makes a playlist containing your video overlayed over the actual youtube video to get the video to play. This method does work for bypassing the block, but it can cause problems.
First of all, turn off auto-play in your Tools>Settings>Privacy & Security>Permissions>Autoplay Settings so that the original video doesn't start playing by itself. If the original video does play, press 'F' and pause it. Or just wait it out I guess... it'll lock up after a minute.
Next, the generated playlist may get stuck under the original video where you can't interact with it. Since the hotkeys don't affect the playlist copy, this is a problem. To get the playlist video back on top:
1. Disable, and re-enable the extension. Tools>Add-ons and Themes>Look for the toggle switch by plunger and turn it off and on.
2. THEN... click on the plunger icon in the upper-right Extension Toolbar to access the options. You may have to click the puzzle piece icon to find plunger.
3. In the resulting menu, change something (like Autoplay), then dismiss the menu by clicking somewhere blank by the video. IF this worked, the playlist video should be on top.
I highly recommend pinning Plunger to the Toolbar, if you can. Puzzle Piece icon>Plunger>Click the gear icon>Pin to Toolbar. That way, you can right-click managed extension to disable and enable it, and click on it to get into the options menu easily.
I hope we can have some updates to add hotkey functionality, or some improvements so these steps aren't necessary. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18035255, a year ago
