Private Downloader collects no personal data. The extension runs entirely in your browser. It does not create accounts, send telemetry, contact any server operated by the developer, or use any third-party service. Network requests go only to the website you are watching and its media servers, and only to save the video you chose.

The extension stores, in your browser's extension storage on your device: a license key if you enter one, a count of free downloads used, your last quality, output, subtitle, and save-location choices, the choices on its Settings page, a history of your last fifty completed saves (each file's name, size, and time), which Clear history removes and which never includes private-window saves, and, for the one-time note asking for a store rating, a count of completed saves and which save the note was shown under, both replaced by a single mark once you answer it. None of this leaves your device. The note's Rate it link only opens the store's page; we never learn whether you rated. Removing the extension deletes all of it. While a stream is being assembled, its temporary file lives in the extension's private storage on your device and is deleted when the download completes.

The popup shows a small still of each detected player, drawn locally from the video element on the page. When a video comes from another site, which a page cannot draw, its still is cropped from a capture of the visible page, taken in memory while the popup is open and discarded at once. No image is ever requested from a site for this purpose, and stills are never stored or included in reports.

Diagnostic reports are generated on your device only when you click Copy privacy-safe report, contain no page addresses, titles, tokens, cookies, or license keys, and are placed on your clipboard for you to share or discard.

Payment for license keys is processed by Stripe on its own checkout page; its privacy policy covers payment data. The developer receives the email address, name, country, and amount paid for order fulfilment, receipts, refunds, and support and does not link it to extension usage, which is never reported.
