- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18656237, 2 months agoWorks alright BUT you need a bit of tinkering. Basically, Firefox already has support for profiles. The problem is, you have to go on "about:profiles" and this is NOT user friendly at all. This extension make it so that you have an easy access to these profiles à-la Google Chrome. The catch though, is that you have to follow the little wizard provided by the extension once installed. The wizard makes you install a little program needed for the extension to actually work, otherwise you would see your profiles but clicking on them would not work. You have to create a simple config file to provide the right path to Firefox executable and voilà. Works wonder after that.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Dream, 2 months agoThe add-on is outdated but I have good news for you. Firefox announced that Profile Management System will soon be added to the Firefox Browser.

go to about:config in address bar
type browser.profiles.enabled to true.
it works as you expect natively - Rated 1 out of 5by NirBB, 2 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Greg, 2 months agoThis mod requires installing a 3rd party binary. This is an enormous security risk and absurd for the given functionality.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firedingo, 3 months agoAdd-On has potential, I understand it worked well before but seems to have issues with working since Firefox 124.0.0. Seems the environment variable was deleted. Some people have had success fixing the issue by setting the path correctly with a config file but not everyone has. Would love to see the dev fix this add-on or Mozilla to implement an official version themselves.
Definitely worth checking out, can't promise it'll work though. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14285360, 3 months agoThis requires a random binary to be installed on my machine to work (Fedora Linux). It's seemingly open source but of course I need to go through the Rust code to understand what it's doing. Also check that the binary was transparently generated from the published code in the gh pipelines.. not worth the hassle. Nice attempt but the risk aren't worth it. I would've rather it offered me the choice to point to the profile folders instead. Less intrusive and more secure.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Aleion, 3 months agoThis doesn't work- I wish it did, and the lack of this feature is THE ONLY THING standing in my way from converting to Firefox completely. I use 5 chrome profiles actively, and its a game changer for managing projects and tabs, and parts of my life. Ive wanted to switch back to firefox for over 5 years also....
Either mozilla, null-dev, or someone else please bring this or something like it to life! - Rated 4 out of 5by p4tr1ck, 4 months agosuite aux probleme de fonctionnement et suivant une methode citez ailleur dans les commentaire mais sous windowNoté (par Zein Adi, il y a un an):

relancer fx - Rated 2 out of 5by mjb, 4 months agoThe **Profile Switcher for Firefox** needs a serious update or to be forked, as the GitHub repository hasn’t been modified in two years. With Chromium-based browsers moving to Manifest V3, the need for Firefox customization becomes even more critical. To keep up, Firefox needs to reintroduce the user-switching feature that many are accustomed to from Chromium-based browsers. Currently, Firefox does support:
1. **Casting to Device** , 2. **Making Individual Web-Based Windowed Browsers (SSBs)**
However, **switching between users** is a crucial feature that Firefox lacks right now. Users are seeking this functionality, and if they can’t find it in Firefox or through third-party solutions, they may turn back to Chromium-based browsers. We should not let YouTube and Chromium outpace Firefox in providing essential features like fast user-based switching.
**firefox-profile-switch-connector.exe** - Rated 1 out of 5by John, 4 months agoDoesn't work. Nothing happens when I click on the different profiles.
- Rated 2 out of 5by CW10, 5 months agoI love the idea behind this app, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I'm on Firefox on Fedora. Installed the rpm following the instructions and restarted, but clicking on the name of another profile in the plugin's menu didn't do anything.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15196385, 5 months agoWhen the add-on was working, it was ★★★★★. Now it no longer switches when I select a profile. I have to deal with it by starting with "firefox.exe -p" like in the old days.
I then switched to a derivative browser with built-in profile switching.
