About this extension
Proxy Switcher puts your proxies one click away. Switch between an office proxy, a test server in another country and a direct connection from the toolbar, let auto-switch rules pick the right proxy for each site, and test any proxy before you rely on it.
FREE, WITH NO LIMITS
• Unlimited proxy profiles: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5
• Saved sign-in for HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 proxies: Proxy Switcher answers the user name and password prompt for you
• One-click switching from the toolbar, with the active profile shown on the icon
• Direct mode (no proxy), or Off to hand control back to Firefox's own connection settings
• Auto switch: send sites through different proxies by host or URL, with wildcards or regular expressions. First match wins, everything else goes where you choose.
• Proxy tester: one click shows whether a proxy works, how fast it is, and the IP address and country sites will see. Your other tabs keep their connection while it runs.
• This site, just for now: send the site you're on through another proxy or direct until you close Firefox
• Private windows can use their own proxy, or go direct
• WebRTC leak guard: while a proxy is on, WebRTC connects only through it, so sites can't see your real IP that way
• Local addresses (localhost, 127.0.0.1, intranet names) can always go direct
• Bypass lists for each proxy, including IP ranges like 192.168.0.0/16
• A dead proxy shows an error instead of quietly sending you direct
• Paste a list of proxies from your provider (host:port:user:pass and other formats) and add them all at once
• Import a backup file from another proxy extension: servers, sign-ins and switch rules come with it
• Keyboard shortcuts: open with Alt+Shift+P; add shortcuts to go direct or to the next profile
• Light and dark mode
PRO (optional, coming soon)
• Failover: backup servers tried in order when a proxy is down, optionally ending in a direct connection
• Schedule: switch profiles automatically by time and day, like the office proxy 9 to 5 on weekdays
• Sync profiles, rules and the schedule across your computers through Firefox Sync (passwords stay on each computer)
• Rule lists: download a list of sites from an address and send them all one way, refreshed daily
• Test any address against your auto-switch rules
• Export and back up every profile
BUILT TO BE TRUSTED
• No analytics, no telemetry, no ads, no affiliate links
• No remote code: everything runs from the package itself, unminified
• Your proxies and passwords stay in your browser's local storage
• The proxy tester only contacts its test address (ipinfo.io by default, changeable) when you press Test
• Never for sale. This extension will not be sold or transferred to another owner.
Good to know: Firefox asks for access to all sites because that is the only way an add-on can choose a proxy for each page; Proxy Switcher never reads the pages you visit. Private windows use Proxy Switcher once you allow "Run in Private Windows" for it.
