- Rated 5 out of 5by Markg, 2 years agoI have used PureVPN for several years now on windows and android using the applications. The plugin's work just as well and makes it easier to control when the VPN is used. Some banks and payment systems assume an account has been compromised when requests come from VPN shielded sites. Also, local devices such as routers do not allow connection via VPN. Having all traffic go through a VPN automatically is not a good option for these cases.

By all indications, it appeared to be still working and would even appear to connect to the chosen server.
After receiving adds targeted to my real location, I checked my IP, my real IP displayed even though the add-on status indicated connected.
Only after uninstalling and reinstalling add-on did it work as it was supposed too.
I suspect this may have started when the add-on begun going straight to the settings upon opening. That behaviour has now stopped after re-install.Developer response

The FireFox plugin would automatically login the country it was logged in to the last session and this worked with any country. Now when I access a FireFox browser you never know if it is really connected even when it says it is connected. It will say connected when it is not, and trying to disconnect gives an error. Support attempted to explain away how this is a me issue, but I have four separate machines and all of them now have the same issue and the only thing that has changed on my end is the FireFox browser update. I spent the better part of a week working with PureVPN support and made no progress. So for me this extension doesn't work at all with recent versions of Firefox on Windows. Completely useless. (This is 4 paid accounts, not the trial or anything like that).

Completely useless. (This is for a paid account, not the trial or anything like that).

edit: I have to edit this review because after changing the password it now works. Unfortunately there has been a mess with the username and password created since they introduced the ability to log in with email. Anyway good, I'm happy with this VPN.
