About this extension
Do you ever open YouTube to watch one specific video, and suddenly it’s 3 AM and you’re watching a documentary about deep-sea squids?

Traditional website blockers don't work. Sometimes you need to use YouTube for a tutorial, or Reddit for a tech question. You don't want to block the website entirely—you just want to stop getting sucked into an endless loop of recommended content.

Enter the Rabbit Hole Breaker.

Instead of aggressively locking you out of websites, this extension introduces mindful friction. It stops the binge after your first video or post.

How it works: Whenever you are on a highly addictive site (like YouTube, Reddit, or Wikipedia) and you click a link to go to the next video or post, the extension temporarily intercepts your click. The screen dims and displays a 10-second countdown timer with a simple prompt:

"Take a breath. Do you really want to watch another?"

When the 10 seconds are up, the page loads normally. Those 10 seconds are exactly what your brain needs to snap out of "autopilot mode" and consciously decide if you actually want to keep scrolling, or if it's time to close the tab.

✨ Key Features:

⏱️ The 10-Second Speedbump: Introduces a short, mandatory pause before loading new internal links on addictive sites. After your first click, the countdown will be 20 seconds.
🛑 No Aggressive Site Blocking: Doesn't lock you out of websites you actually need to use.
🎯 Targeted Interventions: Works on the sites where you get distracted most (YouTube, Reddit, Wikipedia, Twitter/X, etc.).
🧠 Builds Better Habits: Trains your brain to be intentional about what you consume, rather than just punishing you.
Why is this different? Other extensions make you wait to open a website, or kick you off after 10 minutes. Rabbit Hole Breaker is the only extension designed specifically to throttle internal navigation and clicks, targeting the core mechanic of doomscrolling.

🔒 Privacy First: This extension respects your privacy. It requires minimal permissions, contains zero analytics, has no trackers, and collects absolutely no data. The code runs 100% locally on your machine.

Install Rabbit Hole Breaker today and take back control of your attention!
