RatioTorrent Privacy Policy

RatioWorks does not operate an analytics, telemetry, advertising, account, logging, or torrent-tracking backend for RatioTorrent.

RatioWorks does not receive or store your magnet links, torrent names, browsing history, downloaded files, tracker list, peer list, IP address, or transfer history.

Torrent network communication

RatioTorrent is a peer-to-peer torrent client. When you start or seed a torrent, information required for torrent operation is transmitted outside Firefox to the trackers and WebRTC peers used by that torrent. This may include the torrent info hash, tracker announce state, uploaded/downloaded byte counts, WebRTC signaling and ICE information, and the network address visible to connected peers.

This torrent-network traffic is sent to the selected trackers and peers, not to RatioWorks.

Firefox classifies this primary-function transmission as websiteActivity for its built-in data-transmission disclosure.

Local storage

Torrent queue information, settings, verified torrent pieces, and limited torrent metadata required for restart recovery are stored locally in Firefox using extension storage and IndexedDB.

Trackers

RatioTorrent contains built-in WebSocket trackers and allows users to add custom WebSocket trackers. Custom tracker access is requested per tracker host. Tracker URLs embedded in magnet or .torrent files are used only when their tracker authority is built in or has been explicitly approved by the user.

WebRTC and STUN

Compatibility ICE mode may use public Google STUN servers for NAT discovery. Private STUN mode disables those public STUN requests but may reduce peer connectivity. Connected WebRTC peers can see network information required for the peer-to-peer connection.

Tor

Optional Tor routing applies only to supported tracker/web requests. It does not tunnel WebRTC peer-to-peer torrent traffic. Tor Safety Lock blocks RatioTorrent P2P/WebRTC activity rather than claiming to anonymize it.

Private browsing

RatioTorrent is disabled in Firefox private windows so private-window torrent activity is not persisted into the normal extension storage.

RatioTorrent contains no RatioWorks analytics or advertising endpoints.
