Read Aloud: A Text to Speech Voice Reader by LSD Software

by wild, 5 days agoQuite good; for Firefox you'll have to dig-in and choose the non-robotic voices, i.e. google Translate XX or Amazon / MS premium voices.
The UI could be improved, for example highlight directly what is read on the page, in complement to the popup.

The Read Aloud Firefox extension is a fantastic tool for converting text into speech, making it perfect for multitasking, accessibility, or simply giving your eyes a break. It integrates smoothly with Firefox, allowing you to listen to articles, blog posts, or even PDFs with just a click.
Pros:
✅ Clear, natural-sounding voices: Offers a range of high-quality voices, including free and premium options.
✅ Flexible customization: Adjust the speed, pitch, and volume to suit your preference.
✅ Supports multiple languages: Great for multilingual users or language learners.
✅ PDF and eBook support: Reads directly from documents, making it versatile.
✅ Easy controls: Simple play, pause, and skip buttons for seamless listening.
Cons:
❌ Limited free voices: Some of the best, most natural voices require a premium subscription.
❌ Occasional mispronunciations: Like all TTS tools, it sometimes stumbles on unusual names or complex words.
💡 Overall, Read Aloud is an excellent Firefox extension for anyone who wants to consume written content through audio. Whether you're tackling long articles, studying, or enhancing accessibility, it’s a powerful and reliable companion. Highly recommended! - Rated 4 out of 5by EliBran, a month ago
