Collapse the left sidebar navigation categories by default on Reddit's new (2025) site redesign.

About this extension
This extension runs in the background only on Reddit.com and collapses the left navigation sidebar categories on page loads. This protects your privacy from anyone looking over your shoulder and seeing your custom, recent, or community subreddits.
One caveat is, if you close the entire sidebar it will be forced open on the next page load to collapse the categories. Due to Reddit's site design the categories can't be collapsed if the entire sidebar is closed. Without doing this, opening the sidebar would expose your subreddits.
Due to Reddit's new fancy site redesign, their engine crashes out on rare occasions preventing the categories from being collapsed on page loads. It's the same as how links stop working sometimes. Just reload the page to fix it.
As a bonus, this extension will also strip the tracking hashes out of the browser's URL.

This extension only has permission to:
It will still work without having permission to run in private windows. However, if you want it to work in "Incognito mode" it will need permission to run in private windows.
