About this extension
ReplaceSelectionAI brings AI-powered text processing directly into your browser's editable fields — no copy-pasting, no switching tabs.
How it works:
Select any text in a textarea or input field, right-click, and choose one of your custom prompts from the context menu. The selected text is sent to your AI provider and the result automatically replaces your original selection.
Features:
- Define up to 5 custom prompts — each prompt appears as a separate item in the right-click context menu for instant execution on selected text
- Supports OpenAI (GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini), Anthropic (Claude), and any OpenAI-compatible provider (Groq, Mistral, Together AI, and more)
- Works inside iframes and complex web applications
- Your API key and prompts are stored locally in the browser — nothing is sent anywhere except directly to your chosen AI provider
Requirements:
This extension requires an API key from a paid AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or compatible). Usage is billed directly by your chosen provider. No additional subscriptions or accounts beyond your API key are needed.
