by jnewman, 8 years agoExcellent add-on. It would be still more useful if one could save pages to .url shortcuts in the default directory (without all the nested subdirectories). That is, "save pages shortcuts" in the same exact way as "save links shortcuts". Also, it would great if there were toolbar button for saving page shortcuts.

posted 8 years agoThe nested subdirectories issue was a bug and should have been fixed. Thanks for using the addon!

- Rated 5 out of 5by BIT-101, 2 years agoI went looking for something like this. The default "save as..." always defaults to the last place I saved something which I too often just hit the enter key on and then go searching for the file. This solves that problem. I'm not using any of the fancy routing/renaming or other features. Just defaulting to Downloads is all I wanted.

Chrome's Downloads Router extension is way more user friendly and works well... but only for Chrome. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17636936, 2 years agoWorks flawlessly on most images, some sites have bad coding *coughtwittercough* and you need ot manually force the extension to set its extension, but the extension itself makes it extremely easy to customize. 10/10 as long as you are competent and willing to spend 20 minutes learning how it works.

- Rated 5 out of 5by ploedman, 3 years agoWorks as Intended, a really helpful Addon, which I was searching for Ages, before that I had to select the DL file location manually or had to move them afterwards.
I made a Rewrite Rule for Chaturbate if anyone is interested: https://gist.github.com/irrweg/020faffae6c49e77abd37316740a7cff
Works best for Pictures and Videos with the addon "Imagus mod" together. - Rated 5 out of 5by NEM, 3 years agoLove this extension. If you specifically downloaded this for twitter, the developer also has the solution for the file extensions https://github.com/gyng/save-in/wiki/Filename-rewrite

- Rated 2 out of 5by Nacon, 4 years agoIt's still somewhat functional but it no longer saves to the correct folder anymore. Mozilla's update broke this addon. Also... it uses regular expression codes, such cancer; no one should be forced to use this.
