- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16290357, 4 years agoSO FAR SO GREAT 10 MINUTES INTO FIGURING IT OUT VERY REMINISCENT OF THE ORIGINAL SCRAPBOOK FROM 15-20 YEARS AGO ALTHOUGH A LITTLE MORE CONFIGURATION REQUIRED - IF IT HOLDS UP WELL IT IS DESERVING OF 15 STARS
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14392904, 4 years agoCould you please check the page saving function on aliexpress item pages?
It doesn't save most of the page content.
aliexpress (dot) com/item/32954659056.html for example.
Save and scroll down to compare the source and saved page.
Update:
It seems I found the reason of this behavior - a lazy load of the item description in the middle part of the Aliexpress page.
I'm on 1080 notebook screen (and thats quite typical resolution for portable PC) so the page reports "all done" to the browser while the main page part is not loaded until I scroll down below the first screen.
Anyway the SingleFile Firefox add-on is not affected by the lazy loaded content and saves a whole page with no pre-scrolling required.Developer response
posted 4 years agoYes, Scrapbee saves current status of a page instead of just downloading. - Rated 5 out of 5by Neal Stockwell, 4 years agoThis is one of the most important add-ons I use. Years ago, I used Onfolio to archive web pages for future reference. Microsoft bought them then killed the application. Eventually I discovered Scrapbook, but then that add-on became incompatible with Firefox. Thank goodness for Victor Fence and his ScrapBee add-on! I was able to open my existing Scrapbook database and continue to use it with the current Firefox builds. I think the more complex installation compared with other add-ons is the reason this one works. It relies on the external database engine that probably can't be integrated into the add-on install. It's worth figuring it out! Please do not go away ScrapBee! A+++++

- Rated 5 out of 5by jerryfox, 5 years agothis is by far the best scrapbook alternatives in the post firefox 57 world, I understand many negative reviews are probably due to the extra steps needed after installation: you need to go to Add-ons Manager, click the ... to go to the settings\install and follow the instructions to download ScrapBee backend executable then install that on your local machine, before the ScrapBee button even shows up on the toolbar!! and also it is a little bit inconvenient to have the sidebar open all the time if you want to do "Capture Page" instead of "Capture Advanced...", but this is well developed add-on and the inconvenience is caused by Firefox's new architecture, and the workaround deployed by this Add-on is well worth it, you know it because you are aware of the usefulness of the original Scrapbook plugin, that is the reason you are looking for an alternative in the first place!! So suck it up and thank the Author!!
- Rated 1 out of 5by AnnieR, 5 years agoimpossible to install by average user, who does not speak English.
Is it possible to have a detailed installation tutorial? - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15989944, 5 years agoBit of a complicated setup process that isn't clear from the start. You wonder what's going on while it doesn't work and eventually dig around in settings where you are told to find a script and run that, if you can figure out to run the .exe or the .bat. My experience after that was to have Firefox vanish and be forced to run a system restore. The second star is because it looks promising, but I won't try it again until I know it's been updated.
- Rated 5 out of 5by noftal, 5 years agoSometimes, the list of saved bookmarks does not appear in the pannel. Can be solved by relaunching the initialising procedure. But it would be nice if you could fix this issue.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15862653, 5 years agoI had not been updating Firefox .. just because there was no alternative to Scrapbook ... and Scrapbee is just that ... my old scrapbook is in a portable location .. as is my firefox and contains around 2GB of saved pages and clippings ... i could just point Scrapbee to that location.. and it loaded the old scraps ... perfect
i am sure it will be updated with missing features to make it even better in the future ... if 10 stars were possible i would have given 10 stars - Rated 5 out of 5by Camilo, 5 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by merosss, 5 years agoThe configuration is a bit complex and not clear at the beginning, but functionality after setup is optimal! Thanks for bringing back the Scrapbook. The UI may be updated since it looks taken from the 90s xD
Question to the developer:
Is there a way to avoid the extension from automatically opening in the sidebar at startup? Cos it's quite annoying and I didn't find any option in the settings.
EDIT:
My bad, it looks like Firefox view options are saved on exit, so if you close the sidebar but there are still other windows open, then the sidebar comes back up.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi, ScrapBee loaded at startup only when sidebar is on and with ScrapBee opened inside last time. You can just close sidebar or switch to something else such as history before close firefox. - Rated 5 out of 5by DonLuigi, 5 years agoAbsolute game changer add-on. Thank you for making an impossible task and enabling me to migrate to FF Quantum. I even donated, which I never do. Great work! Hope you don't abandon it.
- Rated 5 out of 5by hass, 5 years agoExcellent addon, great compatibility with files saved from legacy scrapbook.
Suggestion:
1. options to choose which file types to be saved
2. scrapbee does not save scripts and applet. Can you make this possible?
BTW, this addon encouraged me to move from ESR to quantum. Thank you. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15701690, 5 years agoAfter years of wandering, I finally managed to open my Scrapbook X files.
Other extensions have tried, ScrapBee has done it.
Thank you for this great extension ! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15149624, 5 years agoThank you for your work, I can finally use my old scrapbook files and go on with saving webpages. Great addon, works flawlessly.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Apoidea, 5 years agoUnfortunately can't get it to work. It just sits there saying "Starting" and nothing happens. No reaction to any button I push. As it works for many users, the problem may be on my end, but since I cannot figure out, what the problem is, I will have to deinstall it again and stick with HTTrack.
Update: After the reply from Victor I checked it out again. Evidently after installing it as a Firefox Add-on it still needs to be installed locally (reading the instructions carefully I kind of understand that now, but it was not clear to me from the beginning). But after registering the RDF it now just sits there saying "Loading...". So it still is not working for me. But I will give an extra star for the really fast reply from the developer.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi, please click help button, and follow the steps to install/configure. - Rated 5 out of 5by Kvaksy, 5 years agoWondeful job. At last I can use my scrapped pages in damned Quantum. Asking the author - can I change the font of scrapped data to another (I want narrow font). In options I can change size but not a font itself....
PS: Yep, to change the font of treeview! Narrow font will allow to put more text without making the sidebar too wide.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi, do you mean to change font of treeview in sidebar?
Update: added in verseion 1.10.5, you can set it by input name of font you favorite now. - Rated 5 out of 5by own, 5 years agoHi Victor, great extension. All my old Scrapbook documents are here. Bravo!!
However, could it be possible to install Scrapbee everywhere else but not in the default Download folder ? Thanks and happy new year.
[edit] thanks for your answer. Done.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi, I just want to keep it very easy for users, you can move executable in this way:
Linux
Modify path to backend executable in
${HOME}/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts/scrapbee_backend.json
Mac
Modify path to backend executable in
${HOME}/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/NativeMessagingHosts/scrapbee_backend.json
Windows
Modify registry entries' value to be new path if you moved scrapbee_backend.json
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\scrapbee_backend
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\scrapbee_backend
Modify path to backend executable field in that scrapbee_backend.json

When it's all done, restart firefox. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14488081, 5 years agoThe last update broke it for me. It will show a "Loading..." message but doesn't load anything. The log is all green. I have scrapbee across multiple profiles (with different backend ports) and they all behave the same way. Anything I can do to fix this?
** 1.10.2 update
Sorry, it is still broken, but in a different way. According to the log, the backend port will not change and stay on 9900, regardless of the settings indicating a different backend port number. Only the one profile which uses the port 9900 worksDeveloper response
posted 5 years agoSorry for problem you met, please update to 1.10.2 to see if it works for you.
UPDATE: Ok, found the real problem, please update to 1.10.3 :) - Rated 4 out of 5by Renincuente, 5 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by ZZZzSazZZZ, 5 years agoScrapBee helped me "recover" most of my Scrapbook files. Unfortunately some of my saved pages are no longer online and I see a 404 error instead.
There are additional steps after installing the extension. Go to ScrapBee's Configure or Settings page, then go to Install. You have to install the backend executable before you can add the filepath(s) in the Configure page. Once you're done with the filepath(s) section, click Save. I did not have to restart Firefox, but YMMV. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13620865, 5 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15444767, 5 years agoThank you so much for the addon ScrapBee :) I can now access my complete Scrapbook library again. Please do not stop with the development of this addon that the ScrapBee is still flying for a long time ;)
- Rated 5 out of 5by ethos, 5 years ago

posted 5 years ago你好, 谢谢你的建议, 但是不建议这样做吧, 想像一下, 如果每加载一个页面, 都要检查其中的所有链接, 尤其有多个rdf的时候, 至少性能上可能有潜在的很大影响 - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15371816, 5 years agothx for your efforts on this add-on. How can the Scrapbook data be imported with exact date, comments, etc. ?
Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi, you need not import data of Scrapbook, just set path to rdf of scrapbook to load the data.
