posted 9 years agoYes, it offers that option. I use it. You probably need to change an option. Write on Firefox "about:preferences#applications". Search for mailto and change the value to Gmail. It should be there. If you have issues, please email me: http://www.google.com/recaptcha/mailhide/d?k=01NKj2PDsRo1XUKZ73GiSunQ==&c=BxMyIylpuNw4tPzCYDJq3uu4JQ4xzutfY3wA2GYrSRg=

- Rated 3 out of 5by quicksite, 23 days agoIt seems to work, or rather it does work, but it suffers from the same problem every single mailto: extension suffers from. Failure to display from which GMAIL ACCOUNT you are sending. Maybe this is an inherent flaw in google's API, i imagine it is. But it is so frustrating for people who actively use more than one gmail account. For example, I have a specific account I use for Youtube usage which is different from my primary G account. Depending on how Google has registered which account is user 1, which account is user 2, and so on, it just often happens for me that the wrong account gets triggered by these extensions. Is it not possible to add an account selector dropdown into the UI which borrows on google's native account switching selector code?

- Rated 5 out of 5by clamke, 2 years agoWorks perfectly. I use it to email pages/links to family and friends using gmail as my target email service.
Is there a way to turn off the notification popup when you send an email without disabling the plugin? No worries if not. It's just a minor annoyance. - Rated 5 out of 5by Sergey Feoktistov, 3 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by PhilG, 3 years agoI have used this extension for several years in Firefox. I love 'Send To Mail' as it's so quick to send the page you are viewing as a link in an email. Best thing is that the subject is entered automatically. I hate emails that don't have a subject. I wish it was available/compatible with Chrome as I also use that browser.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Latz, 3 years agoOpens a tab for no reason and leaves it open. Display a notification for no reason.

- Rated 2 out of 5by David White, 5 years agoThis works but I hate the way it always displays a popup window. The addon called MailTo does the same without this nonsense.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14157791, 6 years agoWorks fine, but leaves the tab and a notify in my email client. Still OK, no big deal to close a tab and dialog window. Would pay $5 if it functioned better... ;)
- Rated 3 out of 5by DataDoc, 7 years agoWorks well, but as others mention, a tab is left open with a mailto link as the url.
Fix that and it's a great addon. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13723506, 7 years agoIt is very frustrating that the email created to send the link does not include one's email signature. The old add-on I used for this purpose was seamless. This creates an empty window into which the link is inserted, with no identifying signature, which I hate. You can add the signature manually in Outlook, but it's very time consuming. Wish this could be fixed. Seems pretty basic.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Mirko Ivic, 7 years agoI'll give 5 stars when it makes tab closed after sending mail.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Rainer Lingmann, 7 years agoOffers no choice between different email options (like e.g. Gmail and desktop mail client). Opens a new tab with a "mailto:" link which then opens the default mail program. However, the mailto tab stays open and needs to be closed manually.
- Rated 4 out of 5by crJohn, 7 years agoIs fast and works great but empty tab opens: mailto:?to=&subject=Veterans%20Today%20%7C%20Military%20Veterans%20and%20Foreign%20Affairs%20Journal%20%E2%80%93%20VA%20%E2%80%93%20Veterans%20Administration&body=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.veteranstoday.com%2F
FF needs to "clean" this up.
