Privacy policy for ShieldCloaked
Effective Date: February 21, 2026
- Introduction
Shield Cloaked ("the company") is dedicated to protecting user privacy through strict data minimization. This policy outlines how we handle information across our website and browser extension, ensuring transparency and security without unnecessary data retention.
- Information Collection and Processing
2.1 Infrastructure and Access Logs
Our web infrastructure automatically processes standard access logs to ensure the security and stability of our services. This includes:
Technical Metadata: IP addresses, browser type/version, operating system, and referring URLs.
Interaction Data: Request URLs and response status codes to monitor the success or failure of requests.
Security Routing: Traffic is routed through Cloudflare, which may process request metadata to provide DDoS protection and performance optimization.
2.2 Transactional Processing and Security
Purchases for premium features are handled through Stripe. We do not collect or store credit card or payment data ourselves.
Security Standards: Stripe uses SSL Encryption, 3-D Secure verification, and maintains strict PCI DSS compliance.
Automated Delivery: Upon purchase, our server receives a secure signal containing the email address associated with the transaction.
Data Minimization: This email is used exclusively to deliver your license key. We do not retain emails or payment session identifiers in any persistent database once delivery is complete.
2.3 Third-Party Email Delivery
License keys and transactional emails are sent via trusted third-party providers. These emails are used only for business purposes and retained for a short period to ensure successful delivery. All email data is purged from the provider’s systems within 30–40 days or sooner upon user request. Exceptions include email addresses associated with bounces, unsubscribes, or spam complaints, which may be retained in suppression lists to maintain delivery reliability. No actual email content is stored in these cases.
- Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process information based on the following legal grounds:
Contractual Necessity: Processing transactional data to deliver the product you purchased.
Legitimate Interests: Maintaining server logs to ensure the security, integrity, and performance of our web environment.
- Data Handling During Extension Use
The Shield Cloaked extension is designed for local operation:
Local Execution: Content manipulation and privacy features are performed entirely on your device.
No Tracking: We do not monitor, collect, or store your browsing history or behavioral data.
Connectivity: The extension communicates with our server strictly for one-time license activation or periodic validity checks.
- Consent
By using the Shield Cloaked extension or website, you consent to the collection and processing of the minimal data necessary to deliver the service, such as your email for license activation. If you do not agree, you cannot use the service.
- Data Retention
Information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. Server logs are periodically purged. Because we do not store customer emails after license delivery, we generally do not hold persistent personal records.
- Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure.
- Rights
Under laws such as GDPR and CCPA, users may have the right to access, correct, or request the erasure of personal data. Because we practice strict data minimization, we generally do not maintain records of your identity. Requests can be made using the contact information below.
- User Responsibility
Users are responsible for reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of Shield Cloaked services constitutes acceptance of the current Privacy Policy.
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Users are encouraged to review the policy regularly.
- Refunds
Purchases for premium features are subject to a 30-day money-back guarantee as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. Refunds are issued via the original payment provider and are subject to their processing policies.
