About this extension
Get a disposable email address without leaving your browser. Short Mail puts a temporary inbox in your toolbar so you can receive verification emails while keeping your primary address out of signup forms.
• Open your temporary inbox from the toolbar and read incoming messages.
• Copy your disposable address with one click.
• Receive new-mail notifications and see an unread-count badge.
• Copy detected verification codes from the inbox or an OTP notification.
• Right-click an editable field and choose “Insert temp email address” to fill it.
• Replace your address when you want a fresh inbox.
• Read message bodies and download available attachments.
No account is required. Short Mail is receive-only: it does not send email on your behalf. The extension keeps your inbox active by requesting lifetime extensions while it runs; it creates a replacement if the inbox expires. Replacing an inbox deletes its server-side messages and attachments.
The extension uses the Short Mail service at short-mail.com and requires an internet connection. Inbox credentials and up to 50 recent message summaries are stored locally in your browser. Email bodies and attachments are processed by the Short Mail service to deliver your inbox. Remote images in messages are blocked until you choose to load them.
Autofill runs only when you choose the extension’s context-menu command. It does not monitor your browsing history or continuously scan pages. The extension contains no advertising or analytics scripts.
Temporary addresses are intended for short-lived use. Use a permanent inbox for important accounts and future password recovery.
