- Rated 5 out of 5by The Beard Below My Chin, 7 years agoCalling it Simple is a bit of misnomer; it's more feature complete than the 'Panorama View' add-ons. Speaking of which has the "free range" aspect that this add-on desires. So with the new update, it acts as a good replacement for like the original "Tab Groups", it's not a perfect 1:1 but that's alright. The issue of tabs loading all at once, or closing are a thing of the past. I've switched back to this and look forward to future developments.
Consider adding Dark theme and DuckDuckGo icon proxy service (example: https://icons.duckduckgo.com/ip2/youtube.com.ico). I'd rather use that over Google s2.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHi! Very good idea with "DuckDuckGo icon".
Thanks for your review! - Rated 5 out of 5by Aaron Lasseigne, 7 years agoGreat to have tab groups back with this extension. Now that the tab hiding API is available and used it's fantastic. Thanks for the excellent work on it!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 11904512, 7 years agoNice legacy Tab Groups replacement on quantum! Most of hotkeys for switching groups can almost recover the legacy one except those limitation in extensions (That's no choice). Good to see this release just before legacy Firefox ESR end of support. Thanks for bringing the final hope and allow for move on quantum seamlessly.
I am looking forward to the free arrange be implemented and that will be fully replace, and/or even enhance of legacy Tab Groups.
Suggestion: Is it possible close the "Manage Groups" tab after switching groups? Otherwise whenever using hotkey to open "Manage Groups", it will switch back to the group with "Manage Groups" tab. The current solution is uncheck 'Open "Manage Groups" in new tab'.
Edit: already in STG 3.0.7, not experimental
Edit 2: Thanks for response. One more suggestion: how about close "Manage Groups" tab when it is inactive OR hide all other tabs when "Manage Groups" is active (so user must choose a group or close it to remain in current group)? This can force the "Manage Groups" tab never belongs to any groups, which prevent group auto switching when opening "Manage Groups".Developer response

In this version I implement hide tabs api, switch between groups and not close tabs - Rated 5 out of 5by BobMac, 7 years agoI love this extension; Groups are one of the most important features and you've implemented them beautifully. However, I have a question (and forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask, but I couldn't find anyplace else).
Are all my groups in memory all the time? Or only the active group? That's important for resource management.
Thanks!Developer response

In this version I implement hide tabs api, switch between groups and not close tabs - Rated 5 out of 5by Kleajmp, 7 years agoThis is the best that ever came after Firefox killed the integrated TabGroup feature. Just wondering if there could be the option to set a shortcut key for backuping your tab goups to a json file?

Please, update Firefox to latest version v61 and after that update addon to STG v3.0 (not experimental). In this version I implement hide tabs api, switch between groups and not close tabs - Rated 5 out of 5by jigar shah, 7 years agoJust amazing. Simply amazing. It moves my "Personal" tabs automatically to group.
There are few small things that can help like sync and hiding (instead reloading when switch)(And this is coming in next FF version so it will be implemented in new version of addon)Developer response

Please, update Firefox to latest version v61 and after that update addon to STG v3.0 (not experimental). In this version I implement hide tabs api, switch between groups and not close tabs - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14048565, 7 years agoThank you for reviving this add-on!! Works GREAT, almost better than the old original. Just one request: I'm losing my tab groups after I shut down FF. I thought that did not happen before, but not sure. Would it be possible to add an autosave / auto backup / auto start option?
But above all: thank you guys for the excellent work in making Firefox great again.Developer response

Edit:
After 3 years this had become one of the most irreplaceable must-have extensions for me, and I have to commend the developer for still maintaining it. I'm still baffled why such useful functionality (Panorama) was removed from FF in the first place.Developer response

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14016082, 7 years agoFINALLY A PLUGIN REALLY THAT WORKS!!! As a web developer, I have like a million tabs open at the same time and this feature is a MUST HAVE to allow me to group tabs! (I started grouping tabs before Firefox added the feature, so I move to firefox feature, then they removed it and I started using a plugin but It stopped working .. was missing this feature untill now)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14004820, 7 years agoThis is a terrific, must-have add-on for researchers and people with busy, creative lives. As a researcher, graphic designer and IT professional, I am often involved in dozens of projects at once and it's not unusual to have dozens of tabs (often several dozens) for each project. This add-on allows me to segregate them into logical groups and call up and use just the group I need, organized the way I want.
In locating parts and ideas for building a custom PC for a client, for example, I may open and use dozens of tabs; with this add-on, I can keep them all grouped under the client's name and share them with the client.
I work with Adobe Illustrator a lot; with this add-on, I can organize the pages, tutorials, online graphic resources, etc., in logical groups, available at the click of an icon. These are just a couple of examples; I have over 25 such groups right now.
I was using Tab Groups by quicksaver (a thousand thanks to you, my friend!) and actually stopped upgrading Firefox at v54 so that I could keep using this essential (for me) functionality. Glad to finally find a worthy successor to that add-on so I can keep working the most efficient way for me! I can hardly recommend this add-on highly enough!Developer response

--> mate, just pin the tab you want to listen to and it stays active. ... don't rate it bad for that, pleaseDeveloper response

Any chance that at sometime in the future tabs opened in one group will stay open when you switch to another group like they did in pre-Quantum extensions?
