Privacy policy for sitecite

Welcome to sitecite! In this document we lay out how your data is handled on the official sitecite instance at sitecite.dantenl.com. By default, on self-hosted instances this should work the same, but we can not guarantee that. The privacy policy applies to both sitecite.dantenl.com as well as the official extension for Firefox and Chrome.
- The data we store
All data we store is provided by you, the user. We do not use analytics. Data you provide includes, but is not limited to:
- links to websites that are shortened
- quoted text
- your customisation options (background, font and text colour)
- a username and a salted hash of your password, if provided
- your Discord account ID or Google account ID
- Requesting or removing the data
If you wish to see all data we store or remove it, you can request a copy of your data by e-mailing us at sitecite@dantenl.com or via our Discord server. We may need to ask you to prove that you are the owner of the account. If you signed up for an instance that is not the official one by sitecite, you should contact the webmaster of said instance.
- Agreement
By providing data to sitecite, you agree that we try and store it carefully but that mistakes can happen and storing your data is not without risk. We try and take proper care for storing this data and we ask you do the same. By using this service (the website and the extension), you agree that your data is stored in accordance with this privacy policy.
