SiteUptodate tells you when a web page changes or a forum thread gets new posts – no more reloading pages by hand. It is a replacement for the former "Update Scanner" and now includes ForumUptodate.

Watch web pages

• Add the current page with one click, or enter as many addresses as you like.
• Freely selectable check interval per page: minutes, hours or days. Use "0" for manual checks only.
• Ignore small changes such as clocks or counters by setting a minimum number of changed characters.
• Optionally compare images as well.
• Show changes on the page: new content is highlighted in the original page, and a small panel jumps from change to change.
• Or use the text view with a before/after comparison.

Follow forum threads

• Automatically finds the newest page of a thread, even if that is page 182.
• Detects new posts and frames them in color. The frames follow zoom and window resizing.
• Detects common forum software automatically, such as XenForo, phpBB, vBulletin, Discourse and many more. Advanced settings and a diagnosis tool help with special cases.
• Use "Mark as read" to reset a thread without opening it.

Easy to use

• Detects automatically whether you are adding a normal page or a forum thread.
• Web pages and forum threads share one list.
• A badge on the toolbar icon shows how many entries have news.
• Open all changed entries with one click.
• Optional desktop notifications.
• Set central defaults for new entries: interval, character threshold, view, images and one shared highlight color.
• Back up your list with export and import. Backups from ForumUptodate can be imported too, and existing entries are kept.
• The interface is available in English and German.

Privacy

SiteUptodate collects no data and sends nothing to third-party servers. All entries, page contents and settings stay local in your Firefox. The add-on only loads the pages you added yourself.

About permissions

To check any page and highlight changes on it, SiteUptodate needs access to all websites. This access is used only for the pages you add.
