About this extension
Don’t feed the trolls—let AI handle the moderation.

Tired of losing hours to circular arguments? Feeling the "digital burnout" from countering misinformation and rage-bait? The Social Media Stress Reliever (SMSR) is your AI-powered companion for digital self-defense.

Instead of letting your blood pressure rise, use SMSR to generate calm, factual, and de-escalating responses to social media posts in seconds. It allows you to stand your ground against hate speech and "alternative facts" without sacrificing your emotional well-being.

Core Features
  • Instant AI Rebuttals: Generate reflected, objective, and moderate replies to any post or thread with a single click.
  • Stoic & Neutral Tone: Our default "Moderator" prompt is designed to remain professional, avoid irony, and focus on factual clarity—taking the heat out of the conversation.
  • Full Human Control: SMSR populates the reply field for you, but never posts automatically. You have the final word: review, edit, or discard the AI’s suggestion.
  • Platform Ready: Strictly adheres to character limits for platforms like X (Twitter) and Bluesky.
  • Bring Your Own AI: Total flexibility. Connect your own OpenAI or Gemini API key and customize the system prompt to match your personal "vibe."

How it works
  1. Navigate: Open a post on your favorite social network.
  2. Generate: Click the SMSR icon. The extension analyzes the content and sends it to your preferred LLM.
  3. Moderate: The AI generates a de-escalating, factual response based on your custom instructions.
  4. Review & Post: Check the response in your input field, make any final tweaks, and hit send.

Why use SMSR?

Social media is often a battleground of "alternative facts" and destructive communication. Silence can feel like complicity, but engagement is exhausting. SMSR bridges the gap, allowing you to maintain a healthy digital discourse while protecting your mental peace.

Note: This extension requires a personal API key from OpenAI or Google Gemini. Your data is handled via the official APIs and is not stored by the extension. You can use a local LLM such as Ollama as well.
