Tab Manager - sort, group and more by Yron
Too many tabs? Let them sort themselves out while you browse. Grouping, ordering, a clear-out of the duplicates, a whole window saved for later — it all runs on its own once you switch it on. Set it up once, then stop thinking about your tabs.

About this extension
Too many tabs? Tab Manager takes care of them while you browse.
Tabs group themselves by site.
Groups stay where you put them.
Duplicates close themselves.
The rest folds away.
A whole window can be put away, and opened again later.
Set it up once. Then forget about it.
Nothing moves, groups or closes until you turn it on.

🆕 NEW IN 7.9.2
• Exclude a group. Name it under General, and every automatic feature leaves it alone.
• Every group Tab Manager did not make is left alone from the start. One switch under Excluded groups changes that.
• Fixed: a group you make by hand stays together while you name it.
• Fixed: a switch you have just moved stays where you put it, instead of flipping back on its own a moment later.
• Fixed: change two settings one after the other and both are kept.

✨ WHAT IT DOES
🌐 Groups tabs by site
Five Google tabs, one group. You choose how tight.
🫥 Or groups them without the group bar
Prefer no coloured bar? The tabs just sit together. Same rules, same order.
Works on every browser, including the ones with no tab groups of their own.
🧭 Puts the rest where you want it
Tabs in no group sit after your groups, or held at the front. Your call.
🎯 Follows your own rules
Call a group Work. Say what belongs in it. Your rules win.
🔀 Keeps groups in order
The group you want, always in the same place. By name or by size.
🔤 Keeps tabs in order too
Sort inside a group, by title, by site, or by how much you use them.
💡 Sort your tabs without moving your groups. Two switches, two lanes.
⏪ Jumps back to the tab you were just on
Control+Q on a Mac, Alt+Q everywhere else. Press it again to keep going back, and
Shift to come forward again — back and forward, the way they work everywhere else.
Or set it to flip between the last two tabs, and press again to come straight back.
It only changes which tab you are on, and it works from the first press.
🧹 Closes duplicates
Open a page you already have, keep one tab — or two, or three, if you want the room.
Keep the tab that just opened, or the one you already had. Keeping the old one loads nothing again.
Never the tab you were reading. Never a pinned tab.
Hold it to the sites you name, or let it work everywhere but them.
Off until you turn it on — and it shows you what it will close before it closes it.
🔢 Shows how big a group is
5 · Google, right in the name.
📌 Keeps your key groups together
At the front of the strip or the back, in your order.
📁 Shows the groups you are using
One at a time, or up to five. The rest folds away.
It only folds. A group you closed yourself stays closed.
💾 Puts a window away for later
Save the window you are in. Groups, colours and every tab.
Open it again any time, as a new window of its own.
One window is kept. Saving another replaces it, and asks first.
──────────────────────────────
✅ YOUR SETUP STAYS YOURS
Arranged some tabs by hand? That work is safe.
• Your groups keep their colours. Auto group names the ones it manages.
• A group you exclude is never moved, folded or closed.
• Pinned tabs never move, and never close.
• Tabs slide into place. Nothing is torn down and rebuilt.
• Nothing closes unless you switch on Close duplicates.
• A saved window opens beside your work. The one you are in is left alone.
• Its tabs come back at the addresses you saved them from.
──────────────────────────────
🎯 ONE JOB, DONE PROPERLY
It organises the tabs you have open, and keeps one window you saved. That is the whole job.
• One saved window. It stays in this browser, on this computer.
• Nothing is synced. Not to another browser, not to another machine.
• Your browser's own pages and files on your disk are not saved. They have no web address.
• A saved window cannot be edited. Arrange it and save over it instead.
• With grouping on, a reopened window is regrouped by site. You are warned first.
• Memory and sleeping tabs — your browser's job.
• Closed one you wanted? Ctrl+Shift+T brings it back.
• The group menu on your bookmarks bar is the browser's own. No extension can reach it.
• Works on Chromium browsers and on Firefox. Browser groups need Firefox 140 or newer; where a browser has none, grouping without the bar still works.
──────────────────────────────
🔒 IT ALL STAYS ON YOUR COMPUTER
Your tabs say a lot about you. We never see them.
• No account. No sign-in.
• No servers, no analytics, no tracking.
• Settings stay in your browser. Your tabs never leave it.
• A window you save stays there too. All of it works with the internet off.
• Nothing is sent anywhere unless you write feedback and press send — and never a tab address, a tab title or a group name.

A fresh install looks like it does nothing, and that is deliberate. This extension
rearranges and closes tabs, so it never acts until you ask it to. Open the popup from
the toolbar icon, open a section, and turn on the switch you want. Each switch has a
gear beside it for its own settings.
Nothing here leaves your computer. No account, no sign-in, no servers, no analytics.
Your settings, and the one window you choose to save, stay in this browser. All of it
works with the internet off.
Firefox 140 or newer, on desktop. Firefox for Android has no tab groups, so there is
nothing there for this to organise.
There is a feedback link inside the extension. It goes to the person who builds this,
and it is read.
