TabGroup Vault is a Firefox add-on designed to help you manage, export, and restore your browser tab groups. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our add-on.

TabGroup Vault collects the following data solely to provide its core functionality:

Website Content and Web History
Tab URLs: The web addresses of tabs in your saved tab groups

What We Don't Collect
TabGroup Vault does NOT collect:

Browsing activity outside of saved tab groups

Keystroke or mouse activity monitoring
How We Store Your Data
Local Storage
All your tab group snapshots are stored locally in your Chrome browser
Data is compressed using LZ-string for efficient storage
Chrome sync storage is used to sync your snapshots across your devices (optional)
Local storage is used as a fallback when sync storage limits are reached
Cloud Storage (Pro Features)
Pro users can optionally enable automatic backup to their own Google Drive account
Backups are stored in your private Google Drive appData folder—we never have access to your backup data
You maintain full control and can disconnect Google Drive sync at any time
In addition to Google Drive, Chrome's built-in sync storage is used for basic synchronization across your browsers
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

Save and Restore: Creating snapshots of your tab groups and restoring them later
Export: Generating downloadable files (JSON, CSV, Markdown) of your tab groups
Synchronization: Syncing your saved snapshots across your browsers
Organization: Managing and organizing your saved tab group snapshots

Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with third parties.

The only data transmission occurs:

Between your browsers via Chrome's built-in sync storage
To your own Google Drive account (only for Pro users who opt-in to automatic backup)
When you manually export data as files to your device
Important: Google Drive backups are stored in your personal Google Drive account, not on our servers. We use Google's API only to facilitate the connection; we never store or access your backup data.
