Privacy policy for Tabsafe: Tab Session Manager & Backup
Tabsafe keeps your data on your computer.
- Snapshots of your open windows and tabs (addresses, titles, pinned state, tab groups), the closed-tab log, named sessions, sessions you import, and your settings. These live in the extension's storage inside your browser profile. Snapshots and the closed-tab log are kept for 14 days on Free and 365 days on Pro. If Pro ends, older entries stay stored, up to 365 days, and are listed again when Pro returns.
- Private (incognito) windows are never recorded.
Nothing, unless you take one of two actions.
- Activating Pro: the licence key is sent to the licence server to confirm it is valid, and again about once a day while a pass is active. No tab addresses, titles or other browsing data are sent.
- Pressing Send on the suggestion form: the text you typed, your email address only if you entered one, and the Tabsafe version number are sent to our server so we can read and answer them. Nothing is sent until you press Send. Firefox asks your permission first.
Tabsafe has no analytics, no advertising and no account.
Backup files are saved to a Tabsafe folder inside your own Downloads folder, when you press Back up now or, on Pro, on the schedule you choose. Tabsafe does not upload them anywhere.
- tabs: read tab addresses and titles to save snapshots.
- storage and unlimitedStorage: keep snapshots and the closed-tab log.
- alarms: take a snapshot every 15 minutes and run scheduled backups.
- tabGroups: save and restore tab groups (browsers that have them).
- sidePanel: show the Tabsafe panel (browsers that have it).
- offscreen: write the backup file, since the background worker cannot make file links (browsers that have it).
- downloads: write backup files.
Remove the extension to delete everything it stored. Backup files in your Downloads folder are yours to delete.
