Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 4, 2026
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy covers the Tabslaps browser extension and the Tabslaps website. Tabslaps ("we", "us") can be reached at contact@tabslaps.com.
Summary
Tabslaps applies visual effects to the pages you visit. It does not read, collect or send your browsing history, page content, form entries or passwords. We do not show ads or use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share personal information.
The extension
Stored in your browser
Your settings: chosen themes, cursor effects, quality and toggle options, saved sandbox effects.
A randomly generated device ID, used only to count license activations. It is not linked to your identity.
Your Pro license key and its status, if you enter one. This is kept in your browser's sync storage, so it may sync across browsers signed in to the same browser account.
A short-lived cache of image addresses for photo themes.
Sent outside your browser
License checks. When you enter, re-check or remove a Pro license key, the extension sends the key and the random device ID to our license server, hosted on Cloudflare. The server confirms the key with Lemon Squeezy. Your IP address is visible to these providers as part of the request.
Fonts. Some themes load fonts from Google Fonts. While such a theme is active, your browser requests the font from Google, which receives your IP address and may receive the domain of the site you are viewing.
Photo themes. When you use a photo theme, the extension requests images through our image server (hosted on Cloudflare) and downloads them from Pixabay. The request contains the theme's search term, not anything about you. These providers receive your IP address.
Nothing else is transmitted.
Permissions
Tabslaps asks for access to all sites so it can apply effects on any page you choose. That access is used only to add styles and visual effects. Other permissions (storage, scripting, tabs, navigation) are used to remember your settings and re-apply your theme when a page loads.
The website
Live chat. We use Tawk.to. It sets cookies to keep the chat working and recognize returning visitors, and it receives technical details (IP address, browser) plus anything you type into the chat.
Hosting and fonts. The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Both receive your IP address when the page loads.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites. It records technical details such as the page viewed, the referring site, your browser type and your country. The live chat tool also shows us basic visit information, as described above.
Store listing analytics. We use Google Analytics on our Chrome Web Store listing to see how many people visit it and where they come from. This runs on Google's store page, not on this site or in the extension.
Demo video. The demo video is hosted on YouTube. Its preview image loads from YouTube's servers, and if you press play, YouTube (Google) loads the player and receives your IP address and viewing activity under Google's privacy policy. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which holds back YouTube cookies until you press play.
No ads or advertising trackers run on the site.
Support
Support form. Our support form runs on Google Forms. Google receives whatever you enter in it, under Google's privacy policy, and we use it only to answer your request.
Email. When you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to reply.
Payments
Tabslaps Pro is sold by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing and payment details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number. We can see order details such as your email, the product purchased and your license key, so we can provide support.
How we use information
To provide Pro features and enforce the activation limit.
To answer support requests.
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
For users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, our legal bases are performance of a contract (licensing, support), legitimate interests (preventing license abuse, running the site) and legal obligation.
Retention
Settings stay in your browser until you clear them or uninstall the extension.
License activation records are kept while your license exists. They are released when you remove the license in the extension; otherwise they stay until we delete them.
Support form entries and emails are kept until we delete them or you ask us to.
Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Messages you send through the live chat are kept in Tawk.to until we delete them or you ask us to.
Sharing
We share information only with the providers named above (Cloudflare, Lemon Squeezy, Google Fonts, Google Forms, YouTube, Pixabay, Tawk.to), and where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
International transfers
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses put in place by the provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against for using those rights. To make a request, email contact@tabslaps.com. For payment data, you can also contact Lemon Squeezy directly.
Children
Tabslaps is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Chrome Web Store user data
Our use of information received through the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use it only to provide the features described here, we do not transfer it except as described here, and no person reads it unless you ask us for support.
Security
Requests are sent over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top will change.
