by SKITTLE LA, 7 years agoThis extension is awesome; I can now open tabs in the background while using laptop touch-pads and not have to hold down Ctrl or Cmd with my other hand.
I only have one request:
Make it compatible with Android (or make another version that is)! This would be soooo awesome and would save so much time, because we have to long-hold then tap *every* time we want to open a background tab.
Keep up the good work!

But it has some weird unexpected behavior when opening multiple taps from one page and after closing one of those tabs it automatically jumps back to the page where i opened the links. I still want to read the other opened links and not jump back to the original page
- Rated 5 out of 5by JohnTheBaptized, 4 years agoIndispensable add-on! As Firefox spirals down in usability and becomes yet another "big-tech" tyrannical platform, em_te's small oasis "Tap To Tab" is a welcomed gift. In fact, with FF's latest debacle of version 89, I'm back on the ESR build until it too probably becomes unusable and worthless, and the search for a replacement user friendly browser, like FF of old, becomes inevitable. Enjoy this little gem while you can! Hopefully, the mob of petulant children who are currently running FF do not read this glowing review and ban this add-on as "they are only satisfied if you are not satisfied". Horrors if an add-on actually makes their ever decreasing market share monstrosity of a bit-player browser usable and, gulp, enjoyable. Don't tell the children! Shhhhhhh............
- Rated 5 out of 5by Thomas, 4 years agoUnfortunately this addon interferes with the "Drag-Select Link Text"-Addon (and it's relatives (I tried 3 different ones)). ... So it opens the link when it is not supposed to, i.e. when just clicking once and selecting the text of the link. ... Therefore I can not use it unfortunately.
Could you solve this please!? ... It is possible, because "Double Click New Tab" does it! Unfortunately they can not open the new tab besides the old one! ... like yours so elegantly does.
:-(
Please! - Rated 5 out of 5by Sor Targol, 4 years agoDefinitely nice extension. One small request to the developer - could you reduce the minimum double-click time delay to, say, 100 or 50 ms? At the moment, I use the default minimum of 200 ms, and these 200 ms are visually added to the total link loading time. This is especially noticeable when left-clicking on different dynamic elements (for example, when left-clicking on another youtube video in playlist). It also doesn't work with your "Open Same Tab" extension.

posted 5 years agoThe release a few days ago should fix it as well as the bug with Imgur. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13487987, 5 years agoThank you for your nice addon! Please, a simple request: Add the option to open new tabs in discarded mode. So with this new option, every link when clicked will be opened in a new discarded tab. By discarded I mean unloaded tab, inactive until selected.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Sv443, 5 years agoI'd give this extension 5 Stars since it's a really nice concept and it makes using my Laptop without a mouse way easier, but sadly Tap To Tab also breaks websites like YouTube, requiring you to sometimes reload the page multiple times until the correct video starts playing. That issue alone has frustrated me so badly over the span of just one week that I cannot continue using this extension.
Edit: It's when you switch to a different video on YouTube. The URL changes to have the new video's ID and the title and description change but the player itself most of the times doesn't switch and instead keeps playing the same video until the page is reloaded.Developer response
posted 5 years agoI can't reproduce the bug, but I made some code changes. Let me know if it fixes that. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14150260, 5 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13721984, 5 years agoAddon itself is great, but it causes an issue in YouTube where new videos are not loaded until refreshing the page entirely. Adding the domain to the restrictions box does not fix this problem.
Update: This bug seems to have been patched. Changed to 5 stars! - Rated 3 out of 5by B.S., 5 years ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15018726, 6 years agoWorks well, but there is one problem. "Put new tab at the end" doesn't place the tab at the very end of the tab panel every time. Rather, if I tap-to-tab, then switch to that new tab, then go back to the first tab and tap-to-tab again, this second new tab will be placed before the first new tab I opened, and not at the very end like it should.
Fix this — make it so that tabs *always* go at then end when "Put new tab at the end" is selected — and I'll make my review a five-star.
