About this extension

AI Sidebar puts an OpenAI-compatible chat panel in your browser sidebar.

What it does

Reads the current page (title, URL, main text) when you ask, so you can summarize, translate, or extract facts.
Works with DeepSeek, Ollama, LM Studio, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Streaming answers, a collapsible reasoning view, and thinking-effort control (off / low / high / max).
Tables, code blocks with copy buttons, and per-answer copy.
English and Chinese UI (English by default).

Setup

Open the sidebar (toolbar button or Alt+Shift+A).
Click the gear, enter your Base URL, API key, and model.
Click “Test connection”, then save.

Privacy

Page text and your messages are sent only to the API endpoint you configure. The developer does not run a server and receives nothing. Your API key and chat history are stored locally in browser.storage.local.
