Privacy policy for Tiffin
Tiffin by Rowan Greywald
Tiffin doesn't collect anything about you. There's no account, no analytics and no tracking, and I (the developer) never see any of your data.
Your links, lists and settings, including the name you type in, are saved in your browser using Firefox's own extension storage. If you use Firefox Sync, Firefox will sync them to your other devices through your Firefox account. That goes through Mozilla, not me.
When you search from Tiffin, your search goes to whatever search engine you've set in Firefox, the same as typing in the address bar.
Weather is the only feature that talks to the internet, and it's off until you turn it on. Before your first city search, Firefox will ask whether Tiffin can share location info. If you say yes, Tiffin sends the city name you type to Open-Meteo (a free weather service) to find the city, and then sends that city's rough coordinates (rounded to about 100 metres) to get the forecast. Tiffin never uses your device's GPS or Wi-Fi location. Forecasts are kept in your browser for 30 minutes so new tabs load quickly. You can read Open-Meteo's terms here: https://open-meteo.com/en/terms
To stop sharing, just remove the city in Tiffin's settings, or turn off Location for Tiffin in about:addons → Tiffin → Permissions and data.
