- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13671618, 7 years agoThis does not work at all.
My setup:
- Mac OS Sierra
- Firefox Dev Edition
- AddOns that may interfere: Simple Tab Groups
- 2 Monitors (Firefox running on secondary monitor)
- Several tabs open (but only want to use tile tabs for 2-3 tabs).
What happens when I click on new tile tab layout:
- Moves two random tabs to primary monitor on two new opened windows side by side
- The windows are not tied together, so when I resize or move one, nothing happens to the other
- I canno make this work on secondary monitor.
- I don't want the tiles to be in new windows but rather in a new tab.Developer response
posted 7 years agoTile Tabs WE 7.0 (and later versions) create the tiled layout on the same monitor as the original Firefox window.
The tlled tabs are not randomly selected, but are the currently selected tab and tabs to the right, or if there are none, tabs to the left.
Moving a tiled window will not move the other tiled windows, but resizing the edge between two tiled windows will resize the adjacent tile window.
The new WebExtensions API's introduced with Firefox 57 must now be used by all add-ons and do not support displaying multiple tabs in the same browser window. - Rated 1 out of 5by aptharsia, 7 years agoI feel bad for giving this a one star, the previous version was amazing. This one is horrible. Pretending browser tiles are "fine" (they aren't), there's no good option for deciding what tabs get moved next to each other. If you accidentally close a tile, it disappears and cannot even be pulled up via closed tabs list. I just had to remove this add-on, it just sucks so bad now.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13627810, 7 years agoThis extension is impossible, I cant arrange tabs, the only thing this plugin does is generate new windows that mess with everything.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13616217, 7 years agoThis is as bad as it gets...Doesn't even come close to being a helpfull tool. The old Tile Tabs where 100x times better. To bad the old one isn¨t supported in the latest firefox version.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13594829, 7 years agoI'm not a fan of the multiple windows approach. That's why we have TABS!
I may re-install when it works properly the way the old (non WE) version did, in tabs. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13586480, 7 years agoPlease find a way to bring back Version 14.12 Released Aug. 15, 2017. This new Tabs WE is not nearly as awesome as the previous. Please, i rely on the version at work daily. We have a lot of worried Co Worker :(
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13577436, 7 years agoPffff, anyone can open two separate Firefox windows, there was and is no need for an add on for that. What was wrong with the old Tile Tabs, it was the most handy add on for me. Hey old Tile Tabs guys please do something. Firefox is not complete without you.

I have to however rate it at 1 star. At this point I think you are doing all you can, by moving a tab into a new window. My issue is that your methodology is highly flawed for any reasonable work flow or use case. You should really simplify the operation. Just give the option to tile the first tab as horizontal or vertical. From there you can keep adding them to the screen.
An example.
Tab1->Vertical
[Main][Tab1]
Tab2->Horizontal
[Main][Tab1]
[++Tab2++]
Etc.. Or you could launch the tile by direction.
M(Left)->1 | 1(Up)->2 | M(Up)->3 | 2(Right)->4 = Error = Slot Full
[2][3]
[1][M]
If you can't control where the windows go or move them after launch, then just cut out all this broken stuff and branch 1 window left or right or up or down. I can all but guarantee that the most used feature is moving 1 tab side by side for a comparison. When the new API gets more mature go back and add features, but for now make it work in a logical way.
I think the thing that does it in for me is that I say I want two tiles, and the add-on creates three. Just create 1 new window with the tab I have selected. This lets you control what 2 tabs you want because you can switch around in the main window. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13524991, 7 years agoi like the old version. this is just to complicated and i don't understand why it's being split from windows instead inside the window itself. it's stupid. i don't want this extension no more.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Quirio22 , 7 years agoJ'aurais mis 5 à l'ancienne version ! Tile Tabs...
L'affichage de deux onglets contigus partageant l'écran d'un double clic me manque énormément. (l'anglais n'est pas mon fort !)
Merci
Maurice - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13494829, 7 years agoi understand this thing works different due to new Firefox v57, but still this is not working similar to previous version.
i cant save a layout. when i want to create a layout on second screen i use, this addon only created a tiled view on my main screen which i dont need. long way to go before it reaches same user friendly version as the previous version - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13494770, 7 years agoSorry, but the new version is a huge regression compared to the previous one.
