Version 2.9.62
Released Oct 27, 2026 - 7.43 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterChoose the plugin's language in Settings, under Account, then Language. After you register, the link card in the popup, the panel and Settings matches the TIP website, with one link plus Copy and Share.
LinkedIn carousels no longer get stuck on "Missing" after every slide uploads. A slide without a fingerprint now says so and offers Retry.
After you add a photo, video or document, the list of what is left now tells you to press Verify & Upload instead of asking you to wait.
Copy and Share now say when the browser blocked the copy, and the Registered message still appears when it does.
Document types in the popup open the full form on the same platform and type.
Every registration success screen offers a website badge for your own site, in six styles.
Mixed is explained with a book example where you wrote some chapters and AI wrote the rest.

Version 2.9.51
Released Oct 17, 2026 - 6.72 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterUploading a file asks twice, once to start the upload and once to finish it.
Connecting your TIP-ID is simpler. On My TIP-ID, choose I'm new to TIP or I already have one. New users see what to do after getting verified, on this computer or on a phone.
The backup file is easy to spot. Settings shows what its name looks like and highlights the .tip.json ending to look for in Downloads. Once it loads, you see your TIP-ID and one Continue button, with nothing left to type.
Every fingerprint or face check now comes with a short line on what it is for. Each one is a reason no AI agent can sign as you.
Settings has a Report a problem item, in red, under Activity. You can add your TIP-ID and a CTID to a report.
Publisher Mode now sits under Activity, after Jury History.

Version 2.9.49
Released Oct 16, 2026 - 6.65 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterSecurity. Every label asks for your fingerprint, face or password, every time. Nothing is ever signed without you.
Security. New Lock and Unlock on your TIP-ID in the panel, the toolbar popup and Settings. While TIP is locked nothing can be signed, and the panel stays a small pill on every site, even where you post. TIP starts locked when your browser opens and locks itself after 15 minutes without signing.
Security. Signing out now stops all signing. Only Sign in, under Settings, This browser, lets you sign again.
Security. Your key details and backup downloads now live in a Backup section in Settings that asks for your fingerprint, face or password every time you open it. Websites can no longer ask TIP to set up, replace or remove your TIP-ID, and only your own clicks can sign from the panel.
New. Verify post. Open a TIP badge's card and choose Verify post to check that a post's text, images and video are what its CTID registered, on YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
New. Is it posted yet? Choose Not posted yet to register first and add the CTID to your post before you publish. How do I find post URL? now includes phone app steps.
New. Settings shows your key and your backups, and can check whether a backup file holds your current key. Organization accounts can choose which team members are credited on a post.
Improved. The panel stays minimized until you open it. In Settings, Inbox comes first under Activity, and History is now called Activity. Activity, Inbox, Reviewer History, Dispute Center and Jury History now work for TIP-IDs connected with a password or a backup file. TIP tells you when a new version is out, and marks security updates clearly.
Fixed. Settings now always shows your TIP-ID when you are signed in. Steadier badges on Facebook, Instagram and X.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.46
Released Oct 16, 2026 - 6.64 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterThe TIP panel now stays minimized. Minimize it once and it stays a small pill on every site, after every refresh and in every tab, until you click Restore or open it from the toolbar.
Lock and Unlock, right on your TIP-ID in the panel, the toolbar popup and Settings. Unlock once with your fingerprint, face or password and labeling will not ask again for 10 minutes. Lock ends it everywhere at once.
Verify post. Open a TIP badge's card and choose Verify post to check that the post's text, images and video are what its CTID registered. It works on YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
In Settings, Inbox now comes first under Activity, and History is now called Activity, as on the VP website.
Activity, Inbox, Reviewer History, Dispute Center and Jury History now work for TIP-IDs connected with a password or a backup file. Before, they said no TIP-ID was found.
Steadier badges on Facebook, Instagram and X, including Facebook reels and the first reply on X.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.43
Released Oct 8, 2026 - 5.97 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterSigning out is now one click in Settings, and nothing is deleted. Your TIP-ID stays saved in this browser, and the next time you label something TIP asks for your fingerprint, face or password, which signs you back in. While you are signed out, the TIP window says so.
Removing your TIP-ID from this browser is now a separate, clearly explained step. It asks once whether you have your backup file, and you type the word remove to confirm instead of your whole TIP-ID.
When you sign out on the VP website, you can sign out of TIP in the same browser with one more click.
Importing an old backup file now tells you it is out of date, the way the VP website does, instead of saying you do not own the TIP-ID.
Organization accounts can now pick which team members are credited on a post, with a role for each.
People credited on an organization's post now see it in My Content, under Published with my byline.
My Content now loads for TIP-IDs secured with a password.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.41
Released Oct 3, 2026 - 5.96 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterTIP now tells you when a new version is out. An "Update available" bar appears at the top of the TIP window and of Settings, with an Update now button. On Chrome and Firefox it fetches the update and restarts TIP for you. On Safari it opens the App Store.
Connecting your phone is now two simple steps. Step 1 shows a small code you can scan with your phone's normal camera, which opens TIP on your phone with the scanner ready. Step 2 shows the secure moving code, which you scan with that TIP scanner. The moving code is larger and sharper, so phones read it reliably, including iPhones.
Connecting from vp.theailab.org is smoother. The website sees right away whether TIP is installed, which TIP-ID it holds, and when you finish setup. After TIP updates itself, an open tab no longer shows a false "Extension context was reloaded" error.
Firefox and Safari pick up open vp.theailab.org tabs right after install, and the setup reminder stays after a browser restart. Screens use calmer neutral colors.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.37
Released Oct 1, 2026 - 5.94 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterSearch by file type. Type JPG, PNG, HEIC, MP4, MOV, MP3, WAV or PDF, or a word like photo, video or document, into Search platforms. Every platform with a post type for that file appears, with the general Other platform first. Opening one lists the matching post types at the top, and if only one fits, it is chosen for you.
Every file you pick now shows a small preview. Photos show the picture, videos show a frame and their length, audio shows a play button and its length, and documents show a labeled tile.
Other now offers Music, Movie and Trailer content types, and shows Book and Code as coming soon.
The plugin opens immediately when you click its icon, even on a slow connection.
"Open full form" is now a clear button with a slowly turning color edge. The edge holds still if your system is set to reduce motion.
The in-page panel uses one typeface throughout, with lighter labels, and looks right in dark mode.
Your connected TIP-ID now shows whether it is a Personal or Organization TIP-ID.
Document posts on LinkedIn, Scribd and SlideShare now accept PDF, Word and PowerPoint files.
An Organization TIP-ID can now register content.
The Face ID notice is easier to read, and TIP-IDs and links use a proper monospaced font on every system.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.33
Released Sep 22, 2026 - 5.93 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterChanges:- The Register button no longer glows yellow. It now takes the colour of the panel it sits in, white with a navy outline in the light theme and near-black with a white outline in the dark one, and a thin line traces its edge once every few seconds to show it is ready. The glow it replaces spread onto the page behind the panel.
- Choosing what kind of content you are registering no longer paints the card yellow. The card you picked keeps its plain background and takes a quiet outline in the colour of the text around it, so the choice is clear without a highlighted block.
- The icons on those cards are no longer gold. They sit in a muted grey until you choose one, then come up to full strength, so the icon confirms the choice instead of competing with it.
- Hovering anything in the plugin no longer lights it yellow. Tabs, rows, cards, links and code chips now answer a hover by drawing their outline and text in full strength instead.
- The first card in a list no longer looks chosen before you have chosen it. Opening a screen used to leave a gold ring on whatever it focused first, which read as a selection.
- Faint text is easier to read throughout, in both themes. Several labels, hints and the trust score line were below the readable contrast threshold on the background they actually sit on.
Fixes:- A link shared straight from a site's own Share button verifies correctly, including links that carry tracking text after the address.

Version 2.9.32
Released Sep 19, 2026 - 5.93 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterFixes:- A badge now updates itself the moment its record changes, instead of waiting for the page to be reloaded. Add the link to a registration and the badge stops saying the post does not match; remove it and the badge stops claiming one.
- The small corner badge follows the record in the same way, and the verified pill now reflects the record's origin and status rather than only whether it verified.
- A link shared straight from a site's own Share button now verifies. On X that covers links carrying ?s=, an account that was renamed or written with different capitals, and the /i/web/ form. It also covers Reddit links that carry the post title, youtu.be short links, and share links from TikTok, Medium and Substack.

Version 2.9.31
Released Sep 13, 2026 - 5.93 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterFixes:- Fixed text badge and color codes

Version 2.9.29
Released Sep 12, 2026 - 5.93 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterImprovements:- Buttons, tabs, chips and cards now respond the moment you press them with a small, quick dip, in the toolbar popup, in Settings and in the panel on websites. Nothing looks different until you press.
- On a touch screen, swipe the panel on a website to the right to tuck it away into its small button. A short or slow drag springs back, and scrolling and typing inside the panel work as before.
Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.28
Released Sep 11, 2026 - 5.92 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterFixes:- After you attached an image, the number beside it sat in the top corner of its circle instead of the middle. It is now centred, and drawn as a thin outlined circle.
- Buttons with a gold fill now have white text on a deeper gold, so they read clearly in light and dark mode. Text that used to be gold is now dark in light mode and light in dark mode.
- The registration panel now uses Libre Franklin, the same typeface as theailab.org. It ships inside the extension, so it looks the same for everyone instead of depending on what is installed on your computer.
- Large uploads are checked piece by piece as they are sent, so a damaged piece is caught and named where it happened instead of failing the whole upload at the end.
- A file's exact fingerprint is now worked out in the background, so it can no longer freeze or stall a registration.
- Registering now waits until the network actually has the media you attached, instead of failing afterwards.
- Working on a second file while the first is still processing no longer mixes up their progress, and cancelling in the toolbar window or in Settings now stops the work there too.
- Upload messages no longer contradict each other, and a finished upload no longer leaves a Retry button behind.
Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.27
Released Sep 6, 2026 - 5.81 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterNew: Email. Register a private message you sent. It is signed by its subject
line and body. Unlike a newsletter issue, private mail has no public link, so
the extension does not ask you for one.
Changed: registering under "Other" no longer requires a post URL. You can sign
a photo, a track, a video or a document before you publish it, then add the
link afterwards from your record page. Replies are unchanged: those still need
the link to the post you are replying to, because that post already exists.
Fixed: badges on Facebook. A post and a comment now each draw their own badge,
a badge stays attached while you move through the feed, and one record can no
longer bind itself to two different posts.
Fixed: large file uploads. The progress number no longer moves backwards when
a part is re-sent, and every part is verified before an upload is allowed to
complete.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.25
Released Sep 4, 2026 - 5.8 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterNew and improved:- Large files now work. The extension asks the node what it will accept and registers files up to 15 GB, with video and audio each handled on their own budget rather than one shared cap.
- A long upload no longer asks for your face or fingerprint a second time part way through. If an upload does fail, the fingerprint you already produced is kept, so you do not start over.
- Uploads are read from disk piece by piece instead of being held in memory, so a big file no longer slows the browser to a crawl. Every piece is confirmed stored before the upload is allowed to finish, and a piece that arrives damaged is reported at that piece rather than at the end.
- Video fingerprinting is substantially faster and steadier. Frames are decoded one at a time so a long video cannot exhaust memory, the work is spread across several background workers, and the panel shows the pace it is actually running at.
- Damaged, fragmented and partially downloaded video files now fingerprint instead of failing, including WebM and MKV.
Fixes:- Removing an attached file now really removes it, and retrying a step really resumes from that step. A step that fails stops the flow there instead of letting the rest run on.
- An attachment is checked against the kind of slot it was dropped into before anything is processed, so a file in the wrong place is reported plainly rather than failing later for an unrelated reason.
- The Retry fingerprint button now appears only when a fingerprint has genuinely settled as missing, not while one is still being produced.
- Registering waits up to two minutes for the network to answer instead of giving up early, and the form locks while a registration is in flight so it cannot be submitted twice.
- The badge now reads "Protected by proof on TIP", and the network is named "DAG (TIP Network)" everywhere it appears.

Version 2.9.24
Released Aug 30, 2026 - 4.05 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterNew:- Spread is now a platform you can register from. Open a post there and the panel appears the same way it does everywhere else, with the content types Spread actually deals in: a shared link with your own comment, an article, a video, audio, or a plain written post. Spread only opens to people who have proved they are human, so the link you register is never fetched and checked for you. Your signature and the content itself are what prove the post is yours.

Version 2.9.22
Released Aug 25, 2026 - 4.04 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterFixes:
- YouTube scan and loading issue
- A video fingerprint could be lost during registration. It now survives, and if it cannot be produced the registration stops and says so rather than quietly recording less than you expected.
- On Firefox, video used one decoder per video instead of piling them up, clicking away mid-registration no longer breaks it, and an upload that finishes after you switch away still reports back.
- A shortened LinkedIn link is now understood as a LinkedIn link everywhere, and a record made from a short link is judged on the page it actually points at.
- The extra URL row now matches the field above it.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.21
Released Aug 25, 2026 - 4.04 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterNew and improved:
- Discord is now a platform you can register from. Messages, threads and forum posts are all covered, with the content types Discord actually has rather than a generic post. A Discord message link only opens for people in that server, so the link is never checked for you; your signature and the content itself are what prove the post is yours.
- A link copied from a phone now works. Most apps hand you a short link rather than the web address of the post, and those short links were being rejected as a profile or a homepage. Every site the extension supports now accepts its own share link, including the news publishers.
- Every screen that gives you a Content ID now has a "View all my content" button, so you can get to everything you have registered without hunting for it. In the toolbar window it switches straight to your list; from a page it opens your list in a new tab. It leaves the Content ID on screen, so you can go and look and come back to copy it.
- Registering a video now shows real progress, frame by frame, instead of a spinner that tells you nothing. Each registration tracks its own progress, so two at once no longer report over each other.
Fixes:
- A video fingerprint could be lost during registration. It now survives, and if it cannot be produced the registration stops and says so rather than quietly recording less than you expected.
- On Firefox, video used one decoder per video instead of piling them up, clicking away mid-registration no longer breaks it, and an upload that finishes after you switch away still reports back.

- The extra URL row now matches the field above it.Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.20
Released Aug 17, 2026 - 4.03 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterFixes:- A post can carry more than one image again, on all three places you can register from. Adding a second image could previously fail outright, and the extra images could lose the fingerprint that lets a copy of your image be recognised later.
- Video is now sampled one frame per second, matching the website, and a blank frame is never used. A video whose opening frames are dark could otherwise be fingerprinted from nothing.
Source code released under TIPCL-1.0 (TIP Community License 1.0)
Version 2.9.18
Released Aug 16, 2026 - 4.02 MBWorks with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and laterNew and improved:- The popup opens roughly twice as fast. A cold open went from about half a second to a quarter, and stays quick on a slow connection.
Fixes:- On Firefox, attaching and signing media from the in-page panel works again.
- Media that has not finished processing can no longer be registered, so a record is never created against an incomplete file.
- A LinkedIn comment's badge is now matched against the comment's own link rather than only the post it replies to, so a comment you registered is confirmed as that comment.
