The addon claims that it sends those data only to the installed desktop client. As the addon (and the desktop client) is not open-source, the users are in dark here and has to take Tonec on it's words. The least Tonec Inc. can do is let Mozilla audit their addon and get the trusted badge so that users can be sure their browsing habit isn't being sold to the highest bidder.

To download files or multimedia content Firefox browser makes requests to servers over the network. This add-on transfers data of such requests to Internet Download Manager (IDM) desktop application to download files in IDM instead of browser.
This is a new requirement from Mozilla to obtain consent from users when information from Firefox is passed to another application.
Mozilla treats URL (internet download address) as potentially personally identifying information, and we have to write about it.

Please note that we (as a company) don't collect information that may contain personal information from Firefox browser. "IDM Integration module" add-on transfers only download information to Internet Download Manager desktop software, which in turn sends it to the same server that Firefox browser tried to send it before.
This information is never sent to us, or our servers. This is what we write in the detailed Privacy Policy below.

IDM stores this information on your local hard diskin system registry only. When you delete download from IDM, this information will be deleted as well.
Please note that URL as a part of this information may contain potentially personally identifying information in very rare cases. Anyway we have to warn about it according to new Mozilla policies. - Rated 5 out of 5by Teddy Rogers, 3 years ago
