Torii is a browser extension that replaces the new tab page.

The extension has no server, accounts, analytics or ads. We don't sell or share your data, don't collect it anywhere and don't use it for anything other than running the new tab itself. Everything is stored only in your browser (chrome.storage.local); removing the extension removes all of it.

What data is handled
Name — if you enter it for the greeting. Stored only in your browser.
City — for the weather. Stored in your browser and sent to Open-Meteo to get the forecast.
History and bookmarks — only if you add the "Top sites", "Recently closed" or "Bookmarks bar" widgets and grant access (the browser asks separately). The list of sites and titles is shown only on your new tab and is never stored by us. To show their icons, the site addresses are sent to icon services (see below).
Everything you set up yourself — links, notes, tasks, habits, backgrounds and images. Stored only in your browser. The addresses of your links are sent to icon services.
Third-party services
Some widgets talk to public services directly from your browser:

Weather — Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com): the city name.
Site icons — Google (google.com/s2/favicons) and Yandex (favicon.yandex.net): a site address, to get its icon.
Exchange rates — cbr-xml-daily.ru: a request with none of your data.
Picture — cataas.com and nekos.best: a request with none of your data.
These services follow their own privacy policies. Torii sends them nothing beyond what is listed above.

Backup
A backup is saved to a file on your computer only when you click "Save file" yourself.
