Trackmark Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Trackmark is a browser extension that scrobbles music you play on YouTube Music, SoundCloud and Apple Music to your Last.fm account.
What data is handled
When you play a track on a supported site, Trackmark reads the track information the site reports through the browser's Media Session API (artist, title, album, duration) and the playback state (playing, paused, position). It uses this to decide when a scrobble is due.
What is sent, and to whom
Trackmark sends data only to Last.fm (ws.audioscrobbler.com): the artist, title, album, duration and start time of tracks you play, together with your Last.fm session key to authorise the request. Last.fm's own privacy policy applies to data it receives: https://www.last.fm/legal/privacy
Trackmark does not send page URLs, the sites you visit, your browsing history, or your Last.fm password. Login takes place on last.fm itself, and Trackmark never sees your password.
What is stored
Stored locally in your browser only: your settings, your Last.fm username and session key, a queue of scrobbles waiting to be sent, and temporary playback state. This data is never sent to the developer or any other third party.
What we don't do
Trackmark has no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not sell or share data. It runs only on music.youtube.com, soundcloud.com and music.apple.com.
Your choices
You can turn scrobbling off globally or per site in the extension popup. Clicking Disconnect deletes your stored Last.fm session, and uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. You can also revoke access at https://www.last.fm/settings/applications.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published with the new release.
