Trip Catcher Privacy Policy

Trip Catcher saves a travel booking (a flight or hotel confirmation open in your email or on a booking site) as a trip on your Travel page at Best Homepage Ever.

What Trip Catcher reads, and when
Only the tab you're on, and only when you open Trip Catcher by clicking its toolbar button. It looks for the booking on that page (the text you selected, otherwise the email open in Gmail or Outlook on the web, otherwise the page's main content) and shows you what it found. It doesn't run on pages in the background, read your other tabs or emails, or record your browsing history.

What Trip Catcher sends
Nothing leaves your browser until you click "Save to my trips". Then Trip Catcher sends the booking's text (with images, scripts and page styling removed) and the email's subject or the page's title to Best Homepage Ever over HTTPS, signed in as you. My server has an AI model from Anthropic read the trip details out of it; Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models. I keep only those details (destination, dates, flights, hotel and confirmation numbers) as a trip on your account, not the email or page.

What Trip Catcher stores in your browser
- Your Best Homepage Ever sign-in token, received from the website when you're signed in, used to save trips to your account. Signing out of the website removes it.
- The result of your last save (the trip's name, flights and hotel), kept in session storage for 15 minutes so reopening Trip Catcher on the same page shows it. Closing the tab or browser clears it.

What Trip Catcher does not do
- Track your browsing history or the websites you visit
- Read pages you haven't opened it on
- Share your trips with airlines, hotels, booking sites or advertisers
- Use cookies or tracking pixels
- Sell or monetize your data in any way

Deleting your data
You can edit or delete any trip on your Travel page. Deleting your Best Homepage Ever account removes your account and your trips. Removing Trip Catcher deletes everything it stored in your browser.
