About this extension
TSTP OmniEffort
TSTP OmniEffort is a local-first productivity and browsing awareness extension built to show you what you are actually doing in your browser, not what you think you’re doing.
It tracks your browsing activity, breaks it down into something understandable, and gives you tools to control it when needed. No accounts, no cloud sync, no external services. Everything stays on your machine.
This add-on is opinionated in one important way: visibility comes first. Control comes second.
What OmniEffort Does
OmniEffort keeps track of time spent on sites, how often you visit them, and how your browsing changes across days and hours. Sites are automatically categorized so you’re not just staring at raw URLs, and over time patterns become obvious very quickly.
Once you can see the patterns, OmniEffort lets you act on them.
You can create rules for individual sites or entire categories, including time limits, visit limits, scheduled blocks, and temporary overrides. Rules can be strict or flexible depending on how much friction you want. Notifications are used to warn you before limits are hit, not just after things are blocked.
Modular Tools (Optional)
OmniEffort is modular. You can enable only what you actually use.
Available modules include:
- Notes for quick capture, planning, and long-form ideas
- Task management for tracking work, projects, and priorities
- Time tracking for activities and projects
- A local music player so you don’t need another app open
- Content management for organizing saved pages and research
- Text analysis tools for inspecting, cleaning, or extracting text
Modules share a consistent interface and can be enabled or disabled at any time.
Privacy and Data
All data is stored locally in your browser.
There is:
- No account system
- No cloud sync
- No external servers
- No tracking or analytics
If you export data, it is because you chose to. If you delete it, it is gone.
Privacy is not a feature toggle. It is the default.
Who This Is For
OmniEffort is for people who want:
- A clear picture of their browsing habits
- Control instead of relying on willpower
- Productivity tools that live where the distraction happens
- An all-in-one system without handing data to third parties
If you have ever closed a tab and wondered how long you were just doing that, OmniEffort exists for that exact moment.
