remains available behind “Show detailed help”. - Hardened refresh maintenance so delayed duration, date, localization, and
icon updates cannot recreate a deleted channel or video. Sidebar moves and
drag ordering now preserve current refresh metadata instead of writing stale
channel snapshots; simultaneous folder-marker edits no longer discard one
another. - Hardened local imports: backup, OPML, and NewPipe channel links are rebuilt
from validated YouTube IDs; Saved video links and imported images cannot
point to unrelated sites. Oversized backup, OPML, and NewPipe files are
rejected before parsing. - Added separate optional filters for live broadcasts happening now and
upcoming events/premieres. Classification uses explicit YouTube metadata
only, so video titles and archived streams are not guessed or mislabelled. - Added a one-time “New in this version” dialog for upgrades. It shows the
matching release highlights once after an update; the sidebar’s “What's
new” button reopens the latest notes at any time, while new installs
continue to open the normal Help flow. - Closing first-run Help now opens Settings on the Data tab, making imports
and backups immediately available. Normal Settings openings remain on
General. - Added batched rendering for large feeds. The first 50 cards appear
immediately; Load more reveals additional cards without changing stored
videos, unread counts, search behavior, or retention. - Improved missing-duration repair after refreshes. TubeFeed now handles more
YouTube player-response layouts and falls back to the watch page's
machine-readable duration metadata, so fewer videos remain hidden during the
no-duration grace period. Newly discovered missing-duration videos are
repaired before stale unknown-date rows. Data → Refresh all durations remains
available for a full user-triggered retry. - Added optional folder markers for easier sidebar scanning. Right-click a
named folder to choose a compact or extended icon and a preset or custom
icon color. Folder-name color can separately inherit Appearance → Folders,
be customized for that folder, or become the new Appearance default. Folder
names stay unchanged for accessibility, markers follow folder renames, and
are included in TubeFeed backup. - Fixed date-unknown fallback results remaining date-unknown after a clean
reimport. The polite watch-page repair now also recovers publication dates
when YouTube's channel listing omitted them.

Development quality- Restored a clean ESLint baseline without changing extension behavior.
- Added dedicated
typecheckand aggregatecheckpackage scripts so linting, strict TypeScript checks, and the production build can be run consistently before release. - Declared the supported Node.js and pnpm versions in
package.json. - Added a Vitest/jsdom/fake-IndexedDB test foundation with deterministic coverage for duration and visibility rules, Atom and OPML parsing, YouTube URL/channel-ID handling, document metadata extraction, both supported YouTube channel-page renderer formats, database cache invalidation, video merge behavior, durable statuses, retention and age pruning, unread counts, and visibility-aware mark-all operations.
Retention and durable state- Replaced read-only tombstones with a versioned durable read/seen status store. Existing v0.6.16 read tombstones migrate automatically and are removed only after the new representation is saved; videos removed from IndexedDB now recover both watched and scroll-seen state if they reappear.
- Made “Stored videos per channel” a real upper bound instead of silently retaining at least 200 records. The setting now supports
0for unlimited and explicitly warns that the oldest videos, including unwatched ones, are removed. - Maximum video age now prunes stored records independently of the count limit. Videos with an unknown publication date remain eligible and display “date unknown” instead of an implausible relative age.
- Removing a channel now removes its durable video statuses as well; retention-pruned videos continue to recover their state if they reappear.
