About this extension
TwixFix lets you control how posts appear in your X/Twitter feed.
Choose a separate action for each filter:
- Leave the post unchanged.
- Cover it with a 50%-transparent gray overlay marked “PROMOTED,” preserving its original size.
- Hide the post.
Independent filters detect advertising labels such as Ad, Advertisement, Promoted, Sponsored, Paid partnership, and their supported localized variants. Additional filters recognize advertising containers and blue, gold, or gray verification badges. Verification badges alone do not mean a post is an advertisement.
Add authors to your whitelist to exempt them from all filters. You can also exempt accounts you follow separately for each rule. If following status is unavailable, a rule with this exception enabled keeps the post visible.
The overlay’s three-dot menu lets you hide or reveal a post and whitelist its author. For non-advertising posts, it can open X’s native blocking confirmation when the corresponding action is available.
Settings are stored locally and support JSON import and export. There is no analytics or developer backend.
TwixFix changes post visibility; it does not prevent X from loading advertisements. Detection may need updates when X changes its interface.
TwixFix is an independent extension and is not affiliated with X Corp.
