Vaultex Password Manager – Release Notes

    Version 1.4.0

    Trust this device

You can now choose to trust this device so Vaultex doesn’t ask for your master password every time you open the popup or switch tabs.
    • Unlock once, stay unlocked: When you unlock your vault, check “Trust this device (don’t ask for password when switching tabs)”. Your vault stays unlocked until you tap Lock or sign out.
    • Only on devices you trust: Use this only on your own, secure devices. The extension stores the encryption key locally when the device is trusted.
    • You stay in control: Use Lock in the popup or Sign Out to lock the vault. You can also revoke the device from Settings → Trusted Devices in the Vaultex web app so it will ask for your password again next time.

    Other improvements
    • Vault no longer locks when the browser suspends the extension (e.g. after switching away and back). On trusted devices, the extension restores your session so you don’t have to re-enter your master password.
    • Auto-lock timeout (in Settings) still applies: after the chosen period of inactivity, the vault locks even on a trusted device unless you’ve set “Never”.

    How to use
    1. Open the Vaultex popup and unlock with your master password.
    2. Leave “Trust this device” checked (default).
    3. After unlocking, the vault stays open when you switch tabs or close and reopen the popup, until you lock or sign out.

To lock immediately, open the popup and click the lock icon, or use the menu and choose Sign Out.
